Title Race:
In the past seasons the title has gone right to the wire. Even though Arsenal won comfortably on the last day the title race had many twists. Arsenal dominance is thought to be unstoppable with players like Villa, Sneijder and Ronaldo they can't be touched. However Vincent and DC think not. Vincent is carrying on from LSTD's work and making a team who he believes can beat any team in the world while DC is contuining taking Man City to the top. The sheiks take over and his managerial ability has made Man City in one of Europes biggest forces. Wolves and Birmingham are outsiders but it will be in my opinion a three horse race between Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Top 4:
One of the biggest shocks occured in world football last season. Wolves finishing in 4th place to gain Champions League qualification. From being relegation battlers, Luka has transformed Wolves in to a team with world class players such as Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba and Cesc Fabregas. They look to continue their charge up the table but local rivals Birmingham City have something to say about that. Birmingham won the Europa League and League Cup against Liverpool and were only pipped by Wolves in the second from last game of the season. Birmingham have players too who are world class. Arjen Robben, Julio Cesar and Pepe. I believe it will be between them two for the last champions league place however this league is full of surprises so dark horses Liverpool under LSTD could perhaps cause a shock and pip them two. But my prediciton is Wolves to finish 4th, Birmingham 5th and Liverpool 6th.
Europa League:
The chase for the Europa league went down to the last day and wont be forgotten by any Liverpool fans too soon. After Portsmouth had a 7 point gap going in to the 30th game, Liverpool shocked everybody and qualified in to Europe on the last day on goal difference. This season there are new contenders. Newcastle after a brilliant campaign which saw them reach an FA Cup final will look to finish in the europa league spot to improve upon last season. While Hull under Fan will look to do one better than last season when they narrowly missed out on the last day on a European place. Outsiders West Brom will fancy their chances but will be up against tough opposition. Portsmouth will look to learn from their mistakes after manager Posh prematurely left Portsmouth which led to Portsmouth slide. However with new manager punting, he will fancy his chances of finishing back in to Europe. Liverpool under LSTD will look to finish comfortably in the European spots and challenge for 6th with Portsmouth. Manchester United have signed players like Frank Lampard and Theo Walcott but after Argyleman was sacked and Sergio De Toure resigned within 3 days you have to feel Manchester United will be going nowhere unless they get a manager in who is commited to the club. I also feel Birmingham will finish comfortably in 5th, I can't see anyone apart from Liverpool challenge them for 5th place. My prediction is Birmingham to finish 5th, Liverpool 6th, Portsmouth 7th. Depending if Man United get a manager in I expect them to finish mid table however if they do they will finish 8th. while Newcastle finish 8th and Hull finish 9th.
Relegation Battle:
The relegation battle wasn't the most entertaining part of the league table to say the least last season apart from the last day. Wigan at the start of the season under Vincent looked like they could challenge for the Europa League spots but after Vincent left for Liverpool it all went wrong for Wigan. The team suffered bad form and only for draws vs Portsmouth at home and West Ham away kept them up. Stoke had managers in and out but never really had a manager who stayed and they were relegated after being demolished by Liverpool on the last day. Norwich,QPR and Swansea will look to follow the type of plan of such clubs like newly promoted teams like West Brom and Newcastle. West Brom stayed up with ease and beat big teams such as Man United while Newcastle stayed up in season 2 and then the season after reached the FA Cup final knocking out Chelsea in the semi finals in the process. The promoted teams have vastly improved, Norwich have acquired players such as Joey Barton, Asamoah Gyan and Rolando which could easily stroll in to any mid table team. QPR have bought players like Cassano,Donovan and Victor Ruiz. Swansea have done well to, they have bought Mario Balotelli in on loan, Miralem Pjanic and Jose Enrique. I believe these teams will do well finishing above the drop zone however I feel West Ham, Wigan and Blackburn will be relegated. Due to two of them having no manager while Football Crazy has a massive job ahead of him. My prediction is Wigan 18th Blackburn 19th West Ham 20th.
