What about Anichebe?

Am I the only one that thinks he could do a better job than Jelavic or Kone at the minute?
I thought he had a great season last season and definitely deserves a start. I think he is ideal for our set up. He is strong and can keep hold of the ball which is more than Jelavic is doing at the minute. In barkley, Pienaar and Mirallas we have 3 quick, technically gifted players and I think all they need is someone who can receive the ball from midfield, hold it and offload it at the right time. I think Big Vic is the man to do that. He is never going to get loads of goals in a season but by giving the team a bit of strength in the final third he can really help barkley, Pienaar and Mirallas get more.
It has to be worth a chance; Jela plays football like a gangly dog.

We may as well play Distin upfront if strong is the only thing were going for.

I didn't say being strong is the only requisite. Anichebe is great at positioning himself in front of the defender and holding him off as he receives the ball. Distin can do many things (inc. pretending to be a milkman) but he cant do that.

i just don't know what we are waiting for with Jela. He works so hard but I wince every time the ball goes near him. My favourite quality in a player is the ability to keep possession and he must lose the ball more than any player I have ever seen. I do think he is a very intelligent player who can finish when he is confident. However this intelligence (running along the lines and finding the gaps) is useless in most of our games now as most teams will play a really deep line against us. We need a striker that can play in front of defenders and attack them. Ideally, we would go out and buy a Suarez or an Aguero. As we cant afford that though, I think we need to really use barkley, Pienaar and Mirallas to attack these and use vic as a hold up man.
Alternatively I really liked it when we played Fellaini and Mirallas up front on the odd occasion last year. I think Mirallas is best in that position.

Pienaar is certainly not quick

If falling over and being weak on the ball is what you like, Vic is your man
