Shefki Kuqi

I read the other day that Alan Pardew had recommended him to us and now I've seen a rumour today saying we are hoping to sign Shefki Kuqi.

He's a free agent after Newcastle decided not to offer him a new contract, apparently Abbott says a deal could only take place if he will take a big pay cut.

What do you think of this potential signing? Do you think he could solve our goalscoring issues? Or would the amount his wages will cost be better spent on someone else?

For me I don't think we should try to sign him, I can imagine even with a pay cut his wages will still be larger than most at Carlisle, and he hasn't got a record that suggests to me he'll solve the problems we have of strikers not scoring.

Never understood the logic of signing an aged player with very little left to offer.
Eric Gates springs to mind, but then I suppose Ivor Broadis was also in this mould and he gave us several years of excellant service.
However why should a player of his age, who lets be fair
is unemployed, think he can demand an exhorbitant wage
