I very rarely post on here, but will refresh the page hundreds of times over the day reading articles.
Now if we are all honest, the majority of recent articles is about "He who shall not be named" and we are all very tired of it. With the imminent transfer of Eriksen and Lamela and Chiriches being confirmed today many have pondered about our potential starting XI over the next year. People have questioned how players such as Holtby and Siggy can get games next year but let me say what i think. Now dont get me wrong, I believe a sound and consistent cb partnership is very important, but I believe AVB doesnt have one "strongest starting XI" in his mind. He has a large strong in depth squad throughout the entire season.
Now with injuries, midweek european games and cup games, as well as the premier league, every player will have a chance to play. Now we are all aware that AVB rewards players with starts if they perform accordingly; Townsend the most recent to be rewarded, and with this motto, and the competition encouraged with players fighting for positions, along with teams being moulded for the opposition in hand, I dont think we can say that any player, except Lloris, is going to be a guaranteed starter.
There is no strongest XI but in fact a strongest 22. And with all that depth of quality there is in the squad, it makes an interesting season, and AVB's job very hard.
Anyhow onwards and upwards, buzzing for the NLD on Sunday, going to be a cracker nevertheless, and interesting to see the team we put out.
COYS and heres to a brilliant season ahead (hopefully)

No 'Starting XI' ?!

I think we will see some rotation with the strength we have, however, I'd still expect Lloris, Vert, Paulinho, Lamela and Soldado to be certain starters.
Not to say they'll never be rested but that will be the spine of the team and others will fit around them.

We have a squad of 25 all of which could start.....
midfield 3 - Capoue, Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele, Holtby, Eriksen all fighting for 3 places.
XI on the pitch, 6 on the bench + GK. 7 quality players will not even be making the bench a lot this season let alone getting on.
Its is going to take some management,
