affecting or effecting, it is still happening

A lot of people are confused about which one to use, me included, but here is a rough and ready guide.
Here endeth the first lesson.
Effect is a noun meaning outcome, consequence, or appearance.
To affect is a verb meaning to transform or to change.

The thing is, neither do we know what money is going to be made available to Weir to strengthen the team at Sheff Utd.
Leeds had their investment when Bates handed over the reigns at Leeds but nothing major has happened there and the Leeds fans are still moaning about the lack of new players coming in.
Probably the reason why no-one has mentioned Sheff Utd on here is that no-one cares about what happens there.
Anyway, I thought you weren't bothered about what happens at the Rovers.

Nope. I am not but the thing is as you know there is a right way to do business and a wrong way, my point was that business should be concluded efficiently but as we know there is one at DRFC who likes the limelight. A bit like blowing your own horn, which I did not on Sunday when you and the boss were walking the dogs on Spur Road morning (miles away you were just chilling,(But unlike the day before you had your coat on.
Basically I am taking the urine out of JR

I agree that it is difficult to be really confident about our prospects. However last year we had had perhaps 14 players who we would regard as capable at 1st team level. We now have more and to illustrate this all the following have been on the bench recently; Duffy, Quinn, Syers, Paynter, Furman, McCombe and Forrester who either did or would have made last year's 1st eleven plus Bennett and Griffin who are OK. Admittedly, we do not really know whether as a group the above squad players are up to Championship standard, but 5 or 6 of them were certainly effective at the top of League 1.
I share the concerns about Jones who needs every ounce of mobility he can muster at his level and I worry a bit about Wabara and Turnbull, but we have to face the fact that PL fringe players don't get intensive serious match practice, so perhaps they will better maintain concentration as time goes on.
Having said all that we do not have the home advantage in terms of support and the subtle "big club" referee pressure/advantage (as we have already seen) so if everything goes well for us it is difficult to see us above the bottom third. This is hardly comfortable.
So I suppose that we do need SOME investment, the question is who can we trust long term?
For the time being let us be encouraged by a great deal of evidence of endeavour, confidence and spirit under a very committed and focused leader in PD; only Billy Davies could rival him.

On Leeds, most fans are much happier with the new owners than they were with Papa Smurf. They have had money and recently signed their first £1M + Player in years (Noel Hunt, I think). I think like with our fans, some Leeds fans like a moan.
The investment Shenanigans have been amateurly handled by Donny. The press conference they had was three people trying not to answer the questions put to them, so why have a press conference? A statement is what is generally put out in such circumstances. All they succeeded in doing is igniting Rumours of a split in the boardroom and looking stupid.
DW's second answer of the conference said it all. It went "ERRRRRRRRRRR!"
As we found before in this league, squad depth is vital. We don't have any and we're probably never going to have any? It's gonna be tough.
