Liverpool kept up their 100% winning start to the season with victory over champions Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

It was another win that Liverpool had to grind out by a single goal, just like their previous two matches, and once again it was Daniel Sturridge that scored the winning goal.

The goal came in just the fourth minute. Steven Gerrard whipped in a corner kick from the right which Daniel Agger headed towards goal, and Sturridge was there to glance it into the net with the back of his head.

The match itself was no spectacle and was rather stop-start, and United came back into the game and started threatening but failed to create any clear cut chances as Liverpool's defence stood firm.

Simon Mignolet had to be alert to keep out some long range efforts, most notably from Nani in the second half, and Robin van Persie perhaps should have done better from a tight angle in the closing stages of the game.

But Liverpool held on for the win that takes them to the top of the table, with nine points out of nine and no goals yet conceded.

Reina's on loan anyway? Everyone knows they're waiting for Valdes to go before securing a deal. Reina won't play for Liverpool ever again

Doesnt really matter, Reina has been sat waiting for barca for 2 or 3 years.

Shipping him out on loan did more good for the "No player bigger than the club" image than forcing suarez to stay did.

Carragher said that BR doesn't rate Skrtel as he was picking him ahead of Skrtel. He also said Reina was got rid of because BR didn't rate him not because of wages. I appreciate he isn't a Liverpool player anymore but Skrtel is and I think it's a bit disrespectful is all.
