Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has bought a 50% stake in Sheffield United’s parent company for £1.
The 47-year-old has agreed to provide “substantial new capital" designed to help the club return to the Premier League “as quickly as possible."
Plc chairman Kevin McCabe refused to reveal the exact sums of money involved but recently described them as being a potential “game-changer."

I wonder if we'd have got big Mac if this had gone through just a couple of weeks earlier? I wonder if they'd have been even more of a competitor wioth significant investment, it is a shame for them that it has happened the morning after the window closed.

Should help them turn their fortunes around if his background is as impressive as their description. But with the transfer window now closed any improvement is likely to be next season rather than this, and by then we will be out of here

Can't believe he would settle for just 50%. Would imagine that he will take it all after a while like Bournemouth.
He talks about the financial fair play but he could easily pay a considerable amount to sponsor them next year to up their financial clout.

Let's all have a whip-round for the remaining 50%. I've got 20p doing nothing at the moment.

But Cyp, is 10% of Sheffield Utd worth 20p? Wouldn't you be better off with a sticky chew?

Is 10% of Sheffield worth 20p?

My dad was from Yorkshire, but from down the road at Rotherham.
Rotherham's worth at least £1.50 so I think £2 for the whole of Sheffield (Blades and Owls) is fair enough.
