I feel obligated to confess that during this recent comedy of errors I've been on the United board to see what was going on. I never go there because i dont have much interest in them apart from their results. My God what a shock!
I'm used to City posters having gentlemanly disagreements and following at least some coherent chain of thought, but over there!!!
Whilst we may give some humorous swipes at Kolarov et al, the dogs abuse they shovel out at players that have served them well and the spitting hysteria that surrounds every comment is really profoundly disturbing.
I'd like to thank my cousin Peter for taking me to Maine Rd to follow City. Phew!
I Confess

"Yes some man utd fans are not happy getting only fellaini or getting him to solve our problems but I will say this is the best transfer we had since we bought hernandez."
Above RVP....?

the main difference is that there are only about ten people ever post on the City board, even I could name them all. There are a hundred or more on the United board. I have to say United's dealings in the transfer market have been shambolic at best. But I don't buy into this "it would have been better under Fergie and Gill" malarky. We haven't had a good transfer window since we signed Ronaldo, unless you count Berba, which itself was reminiscent of last night's last minute panicking.

correction, yes Melton I suppose the signing of RVP last season changed the course of the league but that was a one off in a few years of carp and most probably a retirement gift to Fergie.

Agree Siempre, I think it was a retirement gift too, turned out to be a very good one!
Regarding the City board, you're right, it is quiet on here. A lot of people went off to Vinces forum when 606 closed as it was the same thing every single day, any topic was just descended on by wums!
It's genuinely a shame for me as a lot of good posters didn't move over here. There are always idiots on every football forum, but there are a few very good posters on here too that can think a bit more rationally.

I always enjoy good banter with the blues on here who are for the most part proper fans who go to games. sadly United attract a lot of idiots who wouldnt know the way to Old Trafford. I expect with time, City will get some of them too.

I partly hope we will, as it means we will have won a few more things! One of the downsides of being successful unfortunately. It's a tra de off though, it helpskeep you up there due to the amount of revenue they bring in through shirt sales and the like.

The Utd fans that I know who are season ticket holders are pretty rational and you can chat about football without it descending into the playground squabbles the likes of Robb seem to want to turn it into
I suspect a fair proportion on the rag boards are just glory hunters latching onto their coattails without having anything remotely sensible or interesting to say - see Hafijur
The slaughtering of Giggs has been quite shameful, clearly he's past his peak but rather than the support and respect his one club career should have warranted,it's as if Djemba Djemba is wearing the no 11 shirt rather than Giggs.
I'm not his favourite fan clearly, but he really doesn't deserve that

i take your point PPLF, Giggs is a legend but I sighed when i saw him on the teamsheet for anfield.
Bobby Charlton is a legend too but we wouldnt want him playing for us anymore.

That wouldn't be Charltons fault anymore than its Giggs' fault
That can only be the orevious & current manager who has allowed the situation to become what it is
