Bendtner Issues Statement

It’s no secret that Arsenal and myself had agreed that I could leave the club during the 2013 summer transfer window subject to an agreement between all parties.

An agreement had been reached with more than one club this week but as Arsenal were unable to secure the services of another striker, they reserved their right to not sanction any deal to be concluded…

Naturally, I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to a new challenge, with a new club and a fresh start in English football.

Many things have been said about my where my future lies after many years at Arsenal; the truth is I just want to play football which is when I’m happiest and Arsenal is a fantastic environment for any professional to apply their trade. I still feel very strongly about Arsenal Football Club and following positive talks with the Manager, I am looking forward to working hard to regain full fitness and doing my very best to help to the team and the Manager fulfil our objectives and ambitions this season.

I’ve learnt a lot from my loan experiences at Sunderland and Juventus and I want to assure all Arsenal fans that I will give everything I have to contribute to what I believe will be a successful season for the club.

Welcome back Bendtner, love you.

Turned down 2 moves to Germany (the last one being Frankfurt), because he would not take a wage cut.

If he could be motivated to get his head down, work hard and do things with a football rather than talk all the time, he might just afford himself a chance to get his career back on track.

I won't hold my breath. But an interesting scenario.

"They just read the whole statement out on SSN"

I knew it, SSN get all their 'news' from JA606. It explains the more outlandish transfer 'news' they reported.

Too bad he hasn't been putting in the work in pre season. He'd be on the bench in the next game.

if giroud gets injured, ouch, struggling. Ozil is a great signing and will light up the pl, but cant see it will improve you that much, going forward hasn't been the problem, u need a horrible cu** in the middle, still feel in the really big games, Chelsea, man u, city, u will struggle, but the ozil signing makes you fav for top 4 now

Bunch of BS!! 2 loan spells and failed at establishing a 1st team spot in both, even at Sunderland.

Only reason he is still here is cos we were stupid enough to pay him sheds loads of money.

If he wanted just to play football he would of taken a pay cut like Chamakh has, i really hope he doesn't play for Arsenal, doesn't deserve to wear the colours, ambition-less, talentless arrogant kant

If this a sign of some maturity/realism on his part then I would encourage him to succeed with us, and put the effort in. Alternatively we could have developed him as a centre back, given his height, heading ability etc.
