Trap's Toughest Week

The next week will be massive for Trap, anything less than a win against Sweden and at least a point against the Austrians will leave us with near enough no chance of qualifying.

On the other hand, should Trap succeed then he probably deserves the chance to take us to Brazil.

2nd Place Contenders- Group As it Stands

This is the The Very Official Sum Summe
--- Team P GD Pts
2 Austria 6 +10 11
3 Sweden 6 +4 11
4 Ireland 6 +211

Here's how it will end if it all goes to plan:

Ireland 2-1 Sweden
Germany 3-0 Austria
Austria 0-0 Ireland
Kazakhstan 1-4 Sweden
Germany 4-0 Ireland (could be lower, but fear the worst! )
Sweden 2-1 Austria
Sweden 0-1 Germany
Faroes 0-6 Austria
Ireland 3-0 Kazakhstan

This is the The Very Official Sum Summe
--- Team P GD Pts
2 Ireland 6 +218
3 Sweden 6 +7 17
4 Austria 6 +12 15

Sadly, even those predictions are too optimistic, I can see Trap's tactics backfiring against Sweden: we will score and he will tell the team to sit back and we end up conceding.

At least Trap will be gone if we have some poor results, and if we don't we're going to Brazil.

I think we can beat Sweden but can see us losing away to Austria.
We threw our chances of coming second away when we sat back on the 2-1 lead against Austria and allowed them attack us at will and get the inevitable equaliser!
Well at least if we don't get the play offs we can look forward to seeing Trapatonni go!!!

Think our 2 matches will be draws

When you consider the damp squib and embarrassing display we produced at the euros it would lead to question is qualifying under this guy even worth it. He always just about does enough to get us to the next game and horrendous man management, negatively obsessive tactics plus diabolical squad utilisation has been his reoccurring theme. It's time we started giving ourselves the credit we deserve with our premiership laden squad as we can do far better without this charlatan chancer mgmt duo!! My feeling is he'll come undone after Tuesday as can see us drawing tonight and losing on Tuesday and hopefully soon after we ll be rid of this despicable and embarrassing man. Time to go for Martin o'Neil or Harry redknapp and get Irish fans enjoying their national team again

Haven't seen so many long balls in one game. We make Stoke look like Barcelona!

Shocking stuff

That's us OUT.

Time to find Trap's replacement. Time for the FAI to act.

So pay off Trap, pay massive compensation to QPR and then pay a check-book manager Redknapp a fortune in a job where he has no check-book? Hell, he won't even be able to roll down his car window on transfer deadline day to do an interview with his mates on Sky Sports! And you call the FAI incompetent? You're making Delaney look like a genius there.

O'Neill on the other hand may be an option, mainly because he's out of work having made a pigs ear of his last club job. One downside is that he appeared to be totally out of love with the game by the end of his Sunderland stint but maybe this job would relight his fire. Mind you, lets not pretend the football would be any better, his teams are even more direct than Trap's!

This is precisely the reason why we should try and get Chris Hughton. A top coach first and foremost who became a Premier League manager. We need someone who can improve the players we have because we don’t have the greatest resources to draw upon. He will also develop an attractive and attack minded way of playing that will be enjoyable to watch. And going by what Newcastle and Norwich players have said, he is a genuinely nice guy to get on with. Great man manager and communicates well with his players (unlike Trap).

How about if we lose both?

Then what are our chances?
