No one is infallible, and like most decent journos they report the information that is made available to them.
Some of it legitimate, and some less so.
A number of LFC fans do not like him in light of the Arsenal Suarez bid. Even when some of the info he was reporting was verified by Suarez himself when he was interview by the Guardian and Telegraph.
In regard to Arsenal all he does is reports the players we have targeted, and given the number of so called “ITK’s” around it is evident he does have contacts within the club.

I said that Ozil to Arsenal would happen on the 1st.
Does that mean I'm ITK now?

Funnily enough someone who i follow retweeted this earlier.

BOOM! I can almost feel all of my foul mouthed abusers apologise and say we got it 100 per cent right on Luis Suarez. #lfc #afc

But where did he say he's sure he's signing? Pretty sure he only reported the bid, which he was correct on.
I might be wrong, just wondered.

Its not even the whole Suarez to arsenal thing that annoys me about cross.
Its not even cross, its the whole spectrum of ITK idiots, and Sports journalists. I can count on one hand the number of sports journalists who's opinions i would read, But contraversialists and famous faces get elevated above them.
A perfect example is Mcnulty on the Beeb, chief sports writer who knows little about football, its more of a gossip column than anything remotely interesting, and often he is contraversial for the sake of it..
But then look at his counterpart, Tim Vickery, the South American sports journo, His articles are fantastic, factually informative and he gives you his opinion on playstyles, tactics, explains facts of historical importance, picks interesting questions to ask from his readers on each article, top journalism!
Then you have the Harry Redknapps, Ian wrights and kenny dalglish's of this world who again write gossip columns for the red tops.
Sports journalism is awful in this country, and "ITK's" like John Cross (Who dont actually know anything it seems) féck me off, I reckon of the information from "ITK's" 45% of it is made up, 45% is them re-tweeting the information they have seen other people make up. leaving a whopping 10% based in any fact.
Couple it with the club based agenda that all "ITK's" have and it makes for some ludicrous information.

No idea Chris it was just on my timeline with someone slagging him off so i assumed it was the deal in general. It could be the bid though i guess as it might have been around that time.

Insert random username,
I actually agree with most of your post. Fecking hate all this ITK bs, all of them basically begging for followers, and like you say most of it is made up bs, but phrased in a way that they can go back and say "Oh I didn't say he would sign, only we were interested"
But with that being said, Cross strikes me as an alright one.
Like I say, while many media outlets were reporting PSG had come in for Ozil, he stuck to his guns and absolutely guaranteed he was coming to Arsenal.
Very foolish if he didn't have concrete info.

Agree. However IMO Cross is no different to most. Especially on Twitter. The choice is reading/following the accounts that tend to be the most accurate.
I have been running my own Twitter ITK account for some time, and have had exclusives on a multitude of transfers. Some transpired to be false leads, some accurate.
It is the nature of journalism.

I believe journalism is the art of reporting on something that has happened. speculation, or indeed as is more the case, fabrication is to my mind not the art of journalism.
That is my problem with it, and that is my problem with 90% of sports writers.
