Fellaini

I've seen plenty criticism towards Manchester United for the signing of Fellaini but isn't he exactly the type of player United need? They lack a physical presence in midfield - Carrick may be big but he doesn't have a Yaya Toure-esque fear factor about him. Many have criticised United for failing to compete with Arsenal for Mesut Ozil but I believe they already have a player of his nature in Shinji Kagawa. A front 4 of: Van Persie, Kagawa, Rooney and Valencia is as strong as many top teams. Kagawa still has much to prove at United but he was top of the assist charts in the Bundesliga with many other top playmakers in the league. Finally, where do you all think Fellaini will play in the United system (which I believe is a 4-2-3-1). Moyes played him just off the striker when he was at Everton and he caused problems for teams across the country but with United lacking in the defensive midfield area will he be deployed there?

Thoughts?

Young has a brilliant delivery, Valencia has started the season well but tends to opt for low driven crosses instead of standing them up. Nani I'll admit isn't the greatest but if he finds his best form again then it can only mean a good thing. Wilfried Zaha if you watched the championship last season will put balls into the box also. And with the up and coming talent that is Adnan Januzaj the future looks bright on the attacking front

Hmm. Valencia's idea of a cross is to hit the ball as hard as he can across the goal and hope someone touches it. Young can cross, but by the time he has got the ball onto his right foot, the full back has normally blocked off the cross and he ends up passing back to Evra. Nani's crosses vary from Beckham-esque to Bebe-esque in the space of 3 minutes. Zaha ill give you, but I don't know how much we'll see of him this year.

Anyway, i do agree that he'll give us more of a goal threat, simply because he's better at finding the net than any of our other CMs

I'm backing him to score goals from midfield since
United always play with wingers who have deadly
crosses

Which wingers are these then?

Too funny.

When you point out our main weakness is and will be good wide players people act like its nothing. That is where the problem is. We can do better there but we don't.

All this Yaya-esque nonsense.

Is Yaya a position on the field now?

Fellaini is nothing, i repeat NOTHING, like Yaya.

The criticism is not getting Fellaini - at least not by me - it is the manner in which we made a hash of it and the fact that we didn't get another creative body in the MF.

Young has brilliant delivery
-------------------------
Jesus wept. His delivery is nothing brilliant as such.
Hazard has brilliant delivery, Robben, Bale, Ribery, Ronaldo have brilliant deliveries. The word "brilliant" should only be reserved to special players.

Overrated, nasty, in-bred freak bully.

He's not overrated, and in-bred? How the fook would you know? Nasty and bully is always good thing to have in a player.

Carrick handled Yaya at the Etihad last season, he hasn't torn us apart with one of his run since the title decider a couple of years ago, he doesn't seem to do it much at all anymore, teams have found a way to close the gaps and snuff him out plus Fellaini doesn't really carry the ball from midfield he passes it, a bit like Cleverly.

If you want to look at excellent crossers of the ball, watch Real Madrid.

All crosses are between penalty spot and 6 yard box.
