Last season we saw Raheem Sterling play around 33 times before 2013 and only around 13 times till the end of the season. The lad was called up for England and it was my impression that he was tired and overused before the end of the season. The same with Joe Allen who ran his guts out for the first part of the season, played in the Olympics, and then only played around 15 times after Christmas when most supporters would agree that his effectiveness in games lessened and he looked tired.
Now with Daniel Strurridge this season it seems Brendan Rodgers has not learnt about rotating his squad and resting players. Sturridge was reported to have played against Man U with a thigh injury, an injury he picked up or exacerbated by playing in the Capital Cup for 120 minutes against lower league opposition, and he is currently on England duty.
How many players will Brendan run into the ground this season and leave the team weaker because of it? I do hope the arrival of players in the transfer window shows that Brendan is thinking about rotating so that come April all of our best players are available to push on to a high league position. Otherwise this perplexing overuse of certain players will end in frustration and dropped points.
Brendan making the same mistakes as before?

Players should run themselves into the ground for the team.
