Real Ale Experts?

Good afternoon, hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday Afternoon?

Following a second attack of gout (only 39) this year, I've been given a daily prescription for life of tablets to stop it....

This now clearly opens the door for me to return to a great love of mine, Real Ale... Have we any experts on here who can recommend a decent website, real ale weekends, events etc.. Even keen to buy some on line etc?

Any tips most welcome... One of my favs is Timmy Taylor's Landlord...

Thanks in advance, MT

Excellent Brewery with some really good ales, particularly the Pride of Pendle and Pendle Witch's brew.

Don't forget...

Bottled beers are usually just craft beers

It's not real ale if it's out of a bottle unless it's bottle conditioned.

What about Bank Top Brewery, is he still going these days?
One of my favourites Wobbly Bob...
On the real ale subject is anyone a member of the Gallon Club at the Flag in Bromley Cross.

Wobbly Bob is brewed by the Phoenix brewery in Heywood, formerly the Oak Brewery.

Legendary stuff.

Some from round me worth trying...

Hobson's - Town Cryer/ Old Henry
Wye Valley Brewery - Dorothy Goodbodys (there is also a christmas ale that is excellent)/ Butty Bach
Ludlow Brewering company - Boiling Well/Ludlow Gold.

All those brewerys have quite a wide range of different types of Ale - light/dark/stout etc, and they are pretty much all great.

Not sure about getting them in Spain though...

Enjoy (i do anyway!)

It is still going. I'm not sure how up to date you are, but they took over the old Carters Arms on Belmont Road a few years ago, it's now The Tap. They've also taken over the Brown Cow in Horwich. I'm not sure if that's open or not yet.

If you're looking to try a few, Mallorca, the Tap serves 1/3 pints. I think you can either buy 3, 6 or (I think) 9.

If you've got anything planned Wednesday 9th - Saturday 12th October then cancel it and get yourself down to Bolton Rugby Club.
