FAI chief John Delaney earns €250,000 more than the soccer chiefs in Euro 2012 championship winners Spain and the runners-up Italy, it has emerged.

Angel Maria Villar, who is Spain’s football boss, earns €152,000 a year and the FA boss in Italy , Antonello Valentini is on a salary of €150,000, the Irish Daily Star reports today.

Combined their annual salaries come to €302,000 – that’s €98,000 less than Mr Delaney (44) who earns €400,000 a year.

Italy won the World Cup in 2006 and Spain won it in 2010 while Ireland was the first team knocked out of Euro 2012.

I know it's ridiculous but sure when you can pick your own salary you would make it as high as possible!

Allot of calling for Trap's head, we need to put Delaney the clown on the chopping block with him.

I'm so dissalusioned with ROI at the moment, I'll probably end up watching more of the England game tonight as at least that's got somethign at stake. It's a sad day when I find myself watchign England ahead of Ireland but with Paul fecking Green playing I don't think I coudl watch 90 mins without thoughts of self harm.

It's Germany and the UK paying the wages for Spain & Italy's manager anyway,so you should be over the moon that they're getting feck all!
As for Ireland,no wonder the Celtic Tiger has turned into a week-old kitten with financial decisions like that one!

No interest in the Ireland set-up at the moment. Clueless stubborn manager with out-dated tactics, FAI chief who is an embarrassment, expensive ticket prices, abysmal quality of football, too many poor players involved (Green, McShane, Whelan, Keogh, Cox, etc..), its all become too much.
