MON the MAN

This means he definitely won't be getting it. Expect Delaney to appoint Steve McLaren.

I wouldn't say the fans are 100% behind giving him the job as he is a very negative manager himself so I wouldn't say he is that great and that outstanding but alongside the likes of McCarthy, Mcdermott and Roy Keane he O Neill is by far the number choice

I'd take MON but to be honest his brand of football is only slightly better then Trap's, well the brand of football he's played at Sunderland and towards the end at Villa.
but hopefully with the long break he's had he will be energised and really up for the job, he can certainly motivate players and we really need that at the moment, also he surley won't pick or play Paul fecking Green!

It would be hilarious to see Roy Keane working for Delaney and the FAI though! But we'd have to write off another qualifying campagin if Roy came in.
His first game in the Aviva woudl be great craic though and Dunphy would be in heaven if he got the job

I don’t want us playing attractive football unless it brings success. Someone like MON could tweak Traps system and make it into a good team thats hard to beat by simply motivating the players, picking the best players available, playing players in their correct positions and being more positive with their substitutions.
That for me is all the new manager has to do. If we play good football as a result that will be a bonus.

As well as splitting opinion with the fans the fact that Keane would call out Delaney & Co out on any BS means they wouldn't touch him with a barge pole anyway.
They won't be paying compo if they can avoid it so that rules out anyone in a job.
Despite all that MON is the outstanding candidate anyway. He has the best CV of the names mentioned thus far. However, like the previous manager he is more likely to put the emphasis on making us hard to beat as opposed to asking JOS or Richard Dunne to play tiki-taka.

Good point wild Rover, also MON can be more flexible with his formations, Trap played one way and one way only.
Like we could have played a team like this V Sweeden
forde
Coleman O'Shea Dunne Wilson
Whelan, McCarthy
Wes H
Walters McClean (I'd prefer brady)
Keane / Long
This way we still have Whelan protecting the back four, McCarthy would be available to get it short and give it quick and Wes could be a handful for their defenders openign up space for the striker or wide players to take advantage of.
It's not even that much of a change but IMO would have been allot more difficult for Sweeden and we wouldn't have had to kick it long every time, that for me was the worst part of Trap's regime, the full backs never took it short from the keeper, drove me mad.

Would u not drop Forde @kneerash-23 Cara Gold?

Imback, I think the hate comes from Keane to Dunphy but maybe not from Dunphy to Keane
Yeah I'd probably play Westwood ahead of Forde alright I was just using the above as an example of what I'd like to have seen last week using all the players Trap had bar the second striker with Wes H in his place.
