I am starting again to make an impact on the group stages with that impressive semi-final placing last tournament having booted the champ Junior out of the competition. More of that spirit will be needed this tournament in a group containing SpursBoy and last tournament’s runner-up Tu Meke. The key game will probably be against Tu Meke and I do seem to have the edge over him so I am confident of progression. As for the knock-outs, don’t reckon it will be a vintage tournament by any of the stretch, but solid enough.

SpursBoy finally ended his trophy drought last tournament winning the Serie A in the style we became accustomed to in his earlier tournament days. Again he is going to have to win the tournament with a weak team but I don’t think that will faze him. He admitted before the tournament about having erectile problems, but I reckon he will rise up to the occasion for another final against Voom, where he will limp to runners-up place.

Tu Meke

Team: C. Funchal

Odds: 7 – 1

Ranked: 14th

Tu Meke conducted one of the greatest ever tournament shocks last time out by reaching the final and notching up some pretty strong victories along the way. This made more impressive due to the fact he had never reached the knock-out stages before, never mind the final! This tournament may be a bit more quite, but the knock-outs still a possibility. He can beat Choice and Oscar which should give him enough points than his 3rd place equivalent in group B to once again launch an assault on the knock-outs. Don’t expect half as much drama this time out though.

Oscar

Team: Academica

Mischief maker Oscar has vowed to behave himself for the last every Fifa 13 Tournament and not have a repeat of last tournament. Losing 12 – 0 to Bubbles last tournament wasn’t the real Oscar when he applies himself he can be a solid player. If he does this then I expect him to challenge for the third spot maybe even second. It’s all about attitude with our Oscar so it is. Obers Haven needs more representation here with only Terry consistently performing.

Choice is starting to have a lull in his performances recently, winless over two tournaments now the days where he progressed against the odds seem to be fading into memory. With such a poor team against players of good calibre this could be another group exit for Choice City who will have to be taken home by me or Kent: I’ll take Choice City home.
