Ozil to make up for the world record fee or exchanging Eto for Ibrahimovic and paying 46 million euros on top to Inter?
Obviously the Barca deal was awful at the time, probably still is but only time will tell if Real have made a similar boo boo with Bale and Ozil. Nothing wrong with signing Bale but sacrificing Ozil is the problem. Watching Real in the 1st 3 games of laliga the biggest loser is Ronaldo and he looks lost. Maybe Isco will make up for that once a relationship is developed but it doesnt look pretty at all.
But the biggest winner of this transfer window is Spurs.say what you may about our neighbours but even if they just got Soldado,lamela and Eriksson for the Bale money that would still be fantastic business in my opinion.In the end they got decent squad players and have a really good squad.
Still a long way from challenging but its the type of transfer window that makes football chairman smile.Imagine what harry would have done with the Bale Money.
By the way I like lamela but given AVB is portuguese I thought a 20 million bid for Nani would have made spurs stronger on the flanks.
Either way we have to thank Levy and his chums for selling Bale to Perez making the Ozil deal for us possible.

Agree with the RM part. They looked clueless against Villareal. Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema just hovering about wondering why no one is giving them the ball. Trouble ahead methinks........

The Eto'o deal is comfortably the worst in history when it comes to wasting money!
As for Spurs, I guess they've done very good business without the lure of CL football. I think Soldado will turn out to be good but nothing special, Erisken and Lamela could go either way, remember how good Palacios looked before he went to Spurs?
As for Arsenal... we've done the best business if Ozil plays to his ability; there are few players that can make very good teams special and he's one of them.
Bale is exceptional, but, for me no better than Ozil and certainly not twice as good!

Yes they paid a lot of money for Ibrahimovic, but who had done more at that stage in their career to justify their fee: Bale or Ibrahimovic?

I agree 100% with that part.Actually in years to come this transfer window by Spurs will probably be remembered as one of the best and I think its all down to having a young foreign manager that players can trust.
i rate Soldado, not a Suarez or van Persie but a good playert who most importantly has a fantastic attitude.something I like about Giroud
lets face it the only card we have ever had to attract players is Wenger because as a club decision making on transfers has been poor for the last 5 years.Spurs seem to have that in AVB and their Director of football.I cant imagine anyone likes the obnoxious Levy.
But you also have to give it to Levy for firing harry.By far the best decision the potatoes made in the last 10 years.Even if AVB does not work out as a manager they have jumped a few levels.Comfortably bigger than Liverpool in my opinion.
It begs the question why united did not consider a foreigner for a manager if they do not have the money to match the high prices for players these days. I like Moyes as a manger but I cant see him convince good players to turn other big clubs in favour of united.

'Arry is a bit like Marmite isn't he and not really helping himself by talking about football like's it's a fruit and veg market.
Whilst AVB is an upgrade, it's probably a little unfair on 'Arry as he did get some good league positions (4th twice I think), but the timing was pretty good no doubting that, 'Arry is a bit like Mourinho in that sense starts well and fades away after the third or even second season.

I love Kaka but his big money move to Madrid was water down the drain. A crazy price tag plus wages on par with Cristiano's previous contract. 23 goals in four years.

Thing is Spurs played good football under Harry especially at the Lane, but that also had to do with Modric who was always good there but Transfer wise he was horrible, almost criminal.Always resigning the same players and benching them.wonder how much he made there.
As long as the best and cheap talent is foreign then you better of with a foreign manager for the time being.
