You clearly have issues with Silva, which is shameful on your part. He is the best fighter of all time and the longest reigning streak in UFC history. The rematch is mandatory IMO and for you to suggest he fights a few fights first, given all he has accomplished with that belt.... What is your issue with him?

Further research Mike shows all the fighters you mentioned fought different opponents before any type of rematch so your point seems to be further invalid. You may want to read my post again as I never stated Silva should never have a rematch just his NEXT FIGHT should not be the rematch

Iits not all about Silva though and also part about who Weidman should be fighting next. Ok very few fighters about i agree but i think maybe Belfort has at least at the moment got a better shout for a title shot than Silva, or certainly enough of a shout to have a Silva Vs Belfort match before Silva goes directly to a title match.

Silva was the company, that alone gives him an immediate rematch IMO. Two fights down the line he may age or get injured, let him challenge straight away. That way no excuses can be made.
