United have been the best club in the Premier League era and romanticists will always say Scholes.

In truth, he was never the same after his eye injury. He really was a fantastic player.

But Gerrard in my opinion is the best of the three mentioned. His vision, his goals, his engine have pretty much won us our last 8-9 trophies.

Torres and Suarez have awesome goal returns for LFC but that's largely down to Gerrard being the serviceman, its no surprise to see Torres suffering at Chelsea - he has no Gerrard

Carragher then ends the debate by saying whoever trained with England during his time came out and said " Paul Scholes is the best player on that training pitch". You can't make this stuff up lol

That's how deluded you are. He said in training and NOT in the white shirt for England in an actual game. Its not hard to look good in training when tackles don't go in 100% and the drills normally are attack V defence.

Gerrard and Lampard can only be compared to Scholes once they've won the Champions League.
