Wilson 25 CB Notts Forest Bosman
Matthews 19 FB Cardiff City Bosman
Williamson-Murrell 18 Winger Crystal Palace Bosman
McGeough 18 Midfielder Rangers Bosman
Fisher 17 Midfielder Farnborough FC Bosman
Wanyama 19 Midfielder Germinal Beerschot £1M
=======================
Total spend £1m and so far three players in Wilson, Matthews and Wanyama who will defo get game time this season.
Great business by Celtic and proof that good players can be sourced without a massive outlay.
It's good to see that our scouting network is working well. With players like Izzy and Kayal coming to our club for a nominal fee, it's good to know we can unearth gems now and again.
Right now we all know that a goalkeeper is priority. If we can get shot of Ras to MLS, then we might well see a striker coming in too.
I don't think we need another left back to cover Izzy. Wilson, Matthews, Mulgrew and Ledley(at a push) can provide good enough cover in the SPL for that position.
A goalkeeper and a big lump of a striker would be perfect for us.
What a joy it is going into the new season with a settled team.
All we need to do is keep winning games and build up momentum. I seriously doubt that McCoist can emulate Smith's points tally from last season.
I do however think that we can equal, if not better our tally from last season.

I think collectively Wanyama, Matthews and Wilson are better players than Ortiz, Goian and Wallace. When you consider they cost £1m and £3m respectively, then it has been a fantastic piece of business by Celtic. Not to say Rangers haven't done good business too, just not as good.

RANGERSWORLD, he wasn't as good as Wilson at right back , but he was decent enough to deal with any threat from Aberdeen.
He had a good pre-season and hopefully will improve.
He's only a young player and has plenty of room for improvement.
I think if Mulgrew holds down the left back spot, Wilson will play right back. I also expect Cha to get game time.

Imo they've weakened their team by losing Bougherra.
They've replaced Weiss with a worse player...Still haven't replaced Diouf....Got a youth from Arsenal who's decent, but still very wet behind the ears(He'll only get a game when elbows or Weir is suspended or injured)
All this and their best asset in Smith left the club.....Plus the tax man is breathing down their neck and there's no champions league cash to depend on.
I can see them having a very difficult time getting any more players in.
Time will tell.
