Lorimer Last Night!

I was at the game last night and despite a horror showing in the first half, I thought we came average to good in the second particularly in the latter stages of the game. The play was much more fluid and I echo a lot of people's thoughts that Tom Lees had a great half an hour or so. Nunez didn't play great but importantly bagged two goals. McCormack was wasted up front on his own but did make some good runs (shame about the finishes) AOB was terrible. Bromby was solid. I do think the Leigh is underestimated! Clayton was class and he also likes to get a good foot in.

Anyhow, before the game we were in the Pavillion for the pre match meal. Lorimer, Reaney and Yorath were the guests. Lorimer and Reaney did a running interview about predictions for the game and current team affairs. Interestingly though Lorimer then brough Yorath on to the stage and they chatted about a few different matters, one being the strength of the team and the transfer topics.

It was so blatant that Lorimer has a real problem with connecting with us Leeds fans when it comes to questioning how Bates runs the club. Nobody had the opportunity to ask questions but good old Peter went off on one about us fans being harsh, too ambitious, moaners and just wanting players in for the sake of it. He then went on to say that the club refuse to bring in players who aren't going to better the current squad blah blah blah.

Now if we were, for example, following Chelsea, Sxumchester and so on, I could see his point. However to think that what has been a bucket load of players moving to Championship clubs this summer would not improve our squad is absolutely absurd! Why do we just get fed a load of bull all the time. Last night, albeit some key players missing, was not anything near good enough over the whole 90 minutes.

We need investment in the squad to add much needed depth. Whether this is down to SG or Bates, it really needs to get sorted now. Lorimer did nothing but deepen my anger at the lack of activity. Legend in his playing days, Bates' puppet for his retirement fund.

Since Lorimer's mouthpiece actions on behalf of teh club I think he's gone down in a lot of people's estimations.

Reaney is much more fun!

He was coming out with the same stuff in the commentary box. Is there nobody at the club to challenge Bates in public. He must have them all in his back pocket.

Completely agree. He has lost a lot of creditibility in my eyes. Reaney is a class act. He's got nothing but good things to say but is also realistic. A true legend.

I forgot to say before...BATES OUT

I miss Norman on the radio.

He was one of the best commentators, not just for Leeds but in the whole of football.

Lorimer replicas should be placed in the back of cars, that's where you generally see those nodding dogs!

I think you are being a tad unfair to peter overall
He certainly knows his own mind but there is a thing such as corporate responsibility i know everyone knows this so lets be a bit fairer

It would be acceptable for him to skirt round issues and accentuate positives but he contradicts himself and says things which are obviously not true.
