Fan's Forum at Canalside tonight..7pm
Anyone going ?
On the agenda...
"Atmosphere and Match day Experience..."
Free Entry
Jarvis/ Clibbens not sure about Deano...
According to Clibbens the Fan Survey they had about a year ago said fans were unhappy about the Atmos at the JSS (no kidding), and now the shares are back (and presumably Town now have some influence) they want to 'engage' with fans, and HTSA, to see what can be done.
Obviously the morgue status of the JSS is top of many fans list...the South Stand has been mooted and no doubt a whole host of other topics like stewarding, standing, catering, ticket prices, swearing......will be sounded out.
I'm going down anyway, to see what's happening.
and it's cheap

As long as Town have a successful team on the pitch then I'm not too bothered. Obviously I would like a better atmosphere but we are now establishing ourselves as a Championship team.

Aye up Jacko, was that you sat at the front with a empty pint glass for most of the meeting?
I watched most of the meeting on the Ustream link provided on twitter and here's what I gathered
The bloke from the Fan Experience Company seemed to talk far too much when Clibbens and Jarvis were trying to answer questions, I'd say the same for Ann Hough but I can't honestly remember her saying anything(but I'd did miss the first 20mins or so)
South Stand- they didn't totally write the idea off but as soon as it was mentioned they came out with counter arguments with costs being mentioned every 30seconds.
Family Stand- we don't need a family stand that big....we never have done. Clibbens was advised against making the cheapest seats the family stand and now he admits he regrets it....good! At the very least make the cheapest seats in the ground the bottom tier of the stand open to everyone, encourage our supporters of a like mind to use it, maybe look into the possibility of making it a safe standing zone(with seating none the less).
Stewarding- plenty of good points made by a few in attendance last night and none more so than Bob Pepper who made the point that he personally knows supporters who won't come becuase of over zealous stewarding

Kind of agree with you Wethers but I don't think the atmosphere helps us in any way.
I'd say us and Leeds have roughly the same strength squads player-for-player, but do you think opposition teams would rather play us, with our moaning fans baiting the team every 5 minutes, or go and play in front of a 22,000 crowd, whose popular end never shut up or give the opposition a minutes peace?
I've said it so many times I'm bored of it myself but when our south stand is full with 4,000 away fans I never feel we're gonna get a result. Half of the time I don't even feel like we're the home team.
And that's not right.

...and all these talks of "costs" is bullsh-t.
There is NO reason why the away fans cannot be housed in half of the riverside. You can have a cordon from the steps up to the south stand right down to the bridge. No way would that operation cost anything more than the current set-up, not a chance.
The fantastic media stand (if that's still it's name?) is an embarrassment. A lower tier of temporary seating open to the wind and rain and an upper tier so detached and so damn steep that fans are too busy holding onto their seat to be brave enough to sing.
Stick em in the riverside. If they have to pay more then tough luck. Pay up or don't bother coming. Why are we so desperate to make friends with our "cheapest away tickets in the league"? Time we looked after our own and f-ck everyone else.

Not wanting to sound 'all knowing' Champers,
But I think you have hit the nail on the head without realizing it there.
For 1. It's normal to get, & feel passionate about 'our' team. No doubt about it.
But fork that for now.
It's about you. & me....all of us, going darn there & enjoying it. And it's not happening.
It is a Library.
we all know it, & any team who brings a decent following know it too.
"You only sing when you're winning" has literally been applicable for some time.
Even that final at Wembley.
We were Sh it. absolute pants. compare the volume, enthusiasm, colour, the whole collective - as opposed to when we beat Bristol Rovers at the old wembley all those years ago.
It's almost like we are a different club, different fans.
No comparison what so ever.
No. here is the crunch.
THE CLUB COULDN'T CARE LESS about the so called changes we as fans wanted to implement/talk about at that meeting last night.
Like jacko has informed us. It was a white wash.
& yet the hypocrisy will continue.
L666s at home at the end of next month, they will stand the whole game. make a racket.
The home fans will all be sat darn - under instruction no less... and unless we score 1st... the only 'noise' made by the home crowd will be Moans & groans.
And all the while, other clubs are making great strides into facilitating better home advantage and doing all they can to communise <--- new word
the home support.
As for Oil, clibs 'n' jarv....clueless. you have been found wanting.
and before anyone wants to mouth off about what a great chairman he is, & what he has done financially for the club....yeah yeah big deal.
There is absolutely more to running a club than finance.
And another fan walks ....

Wakey hits on another great and massively important subject....stewarding.
Now I have never had any problems with stewards home or away in all my time watching football. Whilst I've found a few to be clueless and a good number who clearly only took the job to watch the game for free, I've never found them to be a problem.
HOWEVER...
If we are genuinely (and I've no reason to not believe it) beginning to alienate our OWN supporters from attending games because of this then it's a huge embarrassment to our great club. The job of a steward is to provide information and to notify the police of any misconduct that they see. Their job most certainly is NOT to tell people how to behave or to sit down, shut up, etc. if that was the case then we wouldn't need so many coppers at the game. Probably a good thing that none of these little Hitlers have come the c-nt with me at the match as I've never been known to suffer idiots lightly...
It's no good continuing all these PR bike-ride exercises when there are major issues like this that require the FULL attention of those running the club. Wouldn't surprise me to see us register as an official charity before much longer. Seems we want to make everyone else happy before concentrating on our own.

I know you're a regular Tweeter Jacko. You should link some of these articles to Hoyle's lad for daddy to read.
Might not be loads of us but I bet we sum up the general opinion of many Town fans, be it those who go or those who can't be bothered anymore for whatever reason.

No need to get Deans lad involved. The club are only too aware through twitter and emails that we have problems with things like stewarding down at the club. The problem before the club hid behind the excuse of its nothing to do with us it's KSDL you need to talk to(a poor excuse if you ask me) Well it's different now, we are now actively part of KSDL and it's our problem.
I don't know about you lot on here but I've put a post on New606 telling people if they have any complaints or suggestions they need to email this new set up and tell them. It doesn't matter how big or small the idea/suggestion is...get them told. I've told them on t'other site if they can't be bothered then list it on the message board and I'll email them as part of our little group.
I suggest you lads do something similar on here

yeah, was hoping Jarvis would offer to buy me a pint...
The 'survey' is due out by next friday, presumably to every fans with an email address on the database..which will be quite a few. Town are hoping for a BIG response.
I've since discovered Town already have an employee as the SLO...that was kept quiet..link to site---
http://www.fsf.org.uk/slo/slo-for-fans/
and some info.
Town look at the DATM site extensively, and there's a lot of debate on there...but the real issue now will be the survey, and how it is worded... I've been cheeky and asked for an 'advance copy' just to check, as an outsider, that it's 'okay'....and not like the previous ones and slanted in certain ways...
it's funny though, in all the months I've chipping at Town about 'communication' with the fans, they never mentioned this was on the horizon....wonder why.
Anyway, it's opened up the subject and loads are getting involved, so that's all good.

No, I'll not get Deano jnr tweeted, as I've said there is a bit of momentum, and the survey will be out next week..so it is moving along..Deano will know whats happening.
I thought last night was fairly flat, the Mark fella just kept dropping in too many little stories for me..and the guy behind me chatted for too long..and an old biddy in the corner kinda lost the plot too...Ann Hough said nowt...it wasn't what i was expecting as it wasn't really laid out as well as it could have been, all a bit woolly for my liking... I think jarvis is on board but Clibbens I'm not so sure about...
I went to watch the Giants on the TV in the end, so don't know what was happening after that...Hope I looked 'good' on TV and hid my 'inner anger' okay
