Exactly what was needed.
Clarkey got the team absolutely spot on!
Amalfitano is absolute class. What a player. Sess is exactly what we needed aswell. Mozza was as creative as ever. Mulumbu and Billy Jones played well. Tbh everyone did. Anelka deffo grew into the game.
Myhill - 7 - Steady eddy
Jones. - 8 - class again. Such a good player
McAuley - 8 - Mr reliable
Olsson - 8. - Much improved
Ridgewell - 7 - nice goal but still dodgy defensively
Amalfitano - 9.5 - MOTM - absolute class
Mulumbu - 8 - typical beast
Morrison - 8 - heartbeat of our team
Sessegnon - 8 - fast, tricky and can beat a man. Nice goal
Sinclair - 7.5 - still looks a little off the pace. Some good runs though.
Anelka. - 7.5 - deffo grew into the game.
Subs -
Berahino - 7 - looked tidy
Anichebe - 8 - looked a monster when he came on. Good assist for MA
Yacob - 8 - no sulking from being dropped . Steadied the ship when he came on.
Clarke - 9 - took abit of stick recently but got everything spot on today including tactics, line up and subs.
Top day...

Thats better even though Sunderland were absolute cràp.
Agree on Ridgewell being shakey. Would like to see 'Popeye' Petrov given a run.

Can we get anything out of the Màn Ure and Arsenal games though? We were gelling together as a team in patches during the game today and hopefully, those patches will become extended periods. Anelka had some good touches today but I do wish we wouldn't pump the ball up to him - he hasn't got the pace anymore to get onto the ball like Long or strength to hold it up like MAF or Romelu.

Absolutely vital we took the points today, I wasn't bothered about the performance, the result was all that mattered, points taken from those around us will see us ok, but it did seem like we were able to play a bit of football thanks to Di Canio using up all his subs and Steven Fletcher unfortunately dislocating his shoulder. The final bonus was our GD is now back to zero. I bet The Hawthorns was great today.
Can we get anything out of the Man Utd and Arsenal games? You bet!
A word of praise for Southampton. Doesn't seem too bad losing to them now, especially a soft last-minute penalty; or to Swansea after they turned Valencia over 3-0 in Spain during the week. We just have to make our defence more solid and make our chances in front of goal count. Very pleased as I write this at 10.22 pm in the Saudi Arabian desert.

Hey Aries !
Would have been nice to have met up at The Vine for a pre-match pint but no doubt there will other occasions when you're back from playing Aries of Arabia !

We can approach the "big" teams we face now with more positivity with this win behind us.
No-one will give us much chance against Arsenal and Man Utd so why can't we work doubly hard and attack them (like Hull and Soton did in their games this weekend) instead of giving them the initiative as we normally do?

Exactly, Alouion. Why shouldn't we repeat our 3-2 and 2-0 wins at the Emirates and Anfield of recent seasons.

Unsure whether we'll see a backlash or a nervy United after yesterdays result!
