A good win for you yesterday, sincerely congratulations for that. But, looking at the team yesterday, no Luiz or Mata involved in the squad at all. A little concerning for me that is.
But we've obviously seen Mata hasn't been the key, influential player he was for you last season, even in these early stages, we all expected him to be starting all of these games. But you've now got a lot of options, but why would you leave your POTS out of the squad altogether? Mourinho bemuses me sometimes.
For me Hazard and Mata would almost certainly be stuck in that 11, week in week out unless other circumstances prevent so. Hazard for me would be playing on the left wing, driving at full backs and coming inside and Mata would be playing in attacking midfield just playing off the forward. Schurrle should be battling for a CF spot alongside Eto'o and Torres or maybe even LW and then it should be left on the right wing for either Willian or Oscar where everyone can be very effective.
Leading up to the World Cup year it is pivotal for Mata to be a key figure in the Chelsea tam, because I do believe he is one of the best Spain have got. But Mourinho says Mata needs to 'adapt his game' to start for them? Why ever would you do that? He won POTS for you by playing to his strengths and it's a system that worked well with him in there playing to his strengths. Even though you are top, you've had a couple of frustrating results for you and the fans yourselves, so why change a system that works? Why not keep it and sign players with thorough scouting that also fit into that system well either to improve your starting 11 or improve your squad depth.
Thoughts?
What is Mata's place at Chelsea?

because he done more than all our other players thats how. and he looked pretty special to me and because it was a debut then your point doesnt mean anything at all.

I was more than happy with Willian's debut Wednesday. He looked one of the better players on show while he was on.
I was a bit sceptical about his signing but after seeing him live, I think he's going to be an excellent addition to the squad!

Oscar you have lost it
Eto'o has done most things right apart from the finish . Yesterday again he showed some fantastic movements and touches, he just needs that goal. It's obvious that he is head and shoulders above the two other strikers at this club. Torres didn't look anything special apart from that header, and his role last week when coming on against Everton was pathetic. Only time he has looked good this season was against Bayern. Eto'o deserves a few more games to get up to speed with high level football. I'm sure he will, he is too good of a football player to not do, unlike Torres.
Hazard has been fine for us, I'm impressed with his development as a team player. The way he played for us last season in full flow attacking mode is finished, well until he fully becomes accustomed to how we are trying to play now. I can see we are trying to turn him into a player like Ribery. It will take some time but he will adapt, and anyway he has been involved in nearly all of our goals this season.
Willian also looked very good against Basel. We lost that work rate and pacy attacking threat when he got replaced by Mata, which imo lead us to lose Control in our first line of defence(striker/AM) , which helped them to become more successful in picking out their dangerous players for the counter. Mourinho made a mistake that day with that sub.
Also I do not understand the hate for Schrulle??

Hazard was fine defensively under Benitez so you really can't use the lame excuse that he's been bad 90% of the time because he's learning to defend
And you've obviously not read what i've said with regards to Eto and Willian. I said Eto's been good and has done well, i just said atm he has offered nothing Torres doesn't in terms of all round play and i said Willian was good, just wasn't anything special which is to be expected as it was his debut

He wasn't really though. Probably one or two instances in a match he would run back and help Cole out, and the commentators would pick up on it like it was some kind of big achievement for him.
This season he is constantly doing it, and has improved there definitely. I think Cole's game has gone down a bit compared to last season. Don't know if that has been a factor.

Hazard has and is one of your best players, doing really well and working hard for you, up and down the pitch, you can't say that much about a Winger.

LRF no hes not, he plays in cameos and his tackling is just as poor as mata's. If he is to live up to his billing as a supposed next world star he needs to start control games.. like mata did.

I think Hazard's game would decrease slowly if he looked to dictate games from a wide position, if he was an AM, then fair enough and if he could play their then fair enough but he couldn't dictate the game from a wide position as well as him being able to drive at players and either cut inside or drive down the wing and put a quality ball in the box, tied into all this he still gets his pick of the goals. I don't think he's a player to dictate games really.
