Credit where its due!!!

Ok it was only the Faroes. They played like a pub team for a lot of the match. But they have shown already in this group if they're not closed down in time they can knick a goal or two.

But crucially NIreland hammered them 4-0. And it could have been more as you were denied a definite penalty in the 1st half. The players kept their heads when it looked like the Faroes might sneak an equaliser with the score at 1-0. They kept working away with Mc Court especially looking like creating something every time he had the ball.

Paddy mc Court and Steve Davis were brilliant and Healy was unlucky not to score.

For the vital Serbia match next month do you lads think Worthington will be brave and put out an attacking formation or revert back to his negative keep it tight and hope for a breakaway goal tactics.

Davis and McCourt were excellent tonight. A few cracking goals tonight too. Thought it was gonna be a 1-0 as the match went on , but when Davis added the 2nd , Faroes heads went down. Thought Healy looked off the pace and not the player of old.

Think Serbia will be too strong for them but you never know. Still think Worthington is a turkey and a 4-0 win over the Faroes wont sway my opinion.

The ROI match while we did get an honourable draw against a good side like Croatia was a bore. Typical scappy pre-season friendly.
I actually tuned into the NIreland match more on Sky 1 as your match had goals written all over it

Well done Paddy. Still no goal for eyebrows I see.

Decent performance by the team. Have always said Pat McCourt was a class player. Would walk into most smaller international teams including ROI! Our donkey wouldnt pick him for a long time. Talking a lot of nonsense hinting that he was a lazy player, etc. without even giving the guy a chance to prove himself. Lennon is guilty as well for largely ignoring this precocious talent at Celtic. It is one of the things which makes me question his managerial skills. Well Pat certainly showed them tonight! Well done Pat McCourt, Ireland's(NI & ROI) most naturally gifted player! Sorry, Nige but you still have to go!

Steady on Shenandoah, Mc Court is blessed with great skills but without getting into an argument with you here, in terms of natural skill i would rate Damian Duff above him

Shanapalin smoking some of that East Belfast craic? Pat McCourt have some lovely vision, nice touches and good shot but Robbie Keane, Damien Duff, Shane Long, Kevin Doyle, Hunt and McGeady have all done a lot more than Pat McCourt so far.......... he's an ex rep by the way.

Mc Court is an enigma. He is blessed with fantastic skills and when the opposition let him run at them he can cause havoc as he proved last night.

But and its a big but can he do this against decent sides. The highest level Mc Court who turns 28 in December has played at is the Scottish Premier.

And even there at Celtic he is not deemed good enough to be a regular. The arrival of Commons has relegated him to the subs bench.

I would expect Worthington to start him against Serbia. This will be a big test for Paddy. He will be up against good Eastern European defenders who won't allow him the freedom of the pitch he was given against the Faroes.

This is Paddys chance to make a name for himself and prove the people who claim he is just a one trick pony wrong.

Time will tell if he can step it up and perform effectively against good sides

" It was only The Faroes..."

Remind me how did your last match against "only the Faroes..." go?

They drew 1-1 away. A result which i believe will ultimately cost NIreland the chance to nab second place in the group
