Match Preview
Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is likely to be without eight players for Tuesday's Capital One Cup third-round tie against Tottenham at Villa Park.Key striker Christian Benteke will be absent after suffering a hip injury in Saturday's 1-0 win at Norwich.Fellow forward Gabriel Agbonlahor (ankle) and midfielder Ashley Westwood (thigh) are also doubtful and highly unlikely to be risked.Fabian Delph and Antonio Luna are struggling with knocks while Jores Okore (knee), Charles N'Zogbia (Achilles) and Gary Gardner (back) are long-term casualties.Jed Steer is set to replace Brad Guzan in goal and there are also expected to be starting places for the likes of Nicklas Helenius and Yacouba Sylla.Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas will ring the changes for Tuesday's clash. The Spurs boss has expressed his frustration that the fixture takes place just two days after their Premier League win in Cardiff, and very few who featured in south Wales are likely to start at Villa Park. The likes of Brad Friedel, Erik Lamela, Lewis Holtby, Sandro and Vlad Chiriches could all start, but Jermain Defoe is a doubt due to a groin strain.

Line Ups
THFC team: Friedel, Walker, Vertonghen, Chiriches, Fryers, Sandro, Paulinho, Lamela, Holtby, Defoe, Kane.

RDBD that wAs my point the strength in depth of our squadBilla had to make changes we just wanted to. We decided to and won four nil away to a premier league side. That makes me very impressed with what AVB is doing.

"That makes me very impressed with what AVB is doing."

Think AVB should just S-T-F-U about the fixtures.
Lambert would have loved to gave the options AVB had, two days after a PL game.

"if we wanna be a big club"

1. We have to score in Fergie time.
2. Get dubious match-affecting decisions go our way.
3. And from 2, go up the other end and score.

Reckon we've done ok on all the above this week.
