3 games in 6 days?
Injuries piling up?
3 wins. F8 A0. Job done.
Well done AVB for negotiating the three games and using the squad, or what little he had to play with.
A very little bit of criticism would be the fact he started Rose instead of Fryers on Thursday, with his injury having knock-on effects for the amount of football Verts had to play, and Walker too.
Paulinho and Dembele we're managed quite well over the three games, both starting two, but neither completing 90 in both.
Had to contend with Chiriches, Kabs, Rose, Capoue, Lennon, Chadli and Ade being unavailable for most of the fixtures, if not all
Overall though, a fantastic job. It goes to show how vital it was to have a big squad of 25. Each and every one of the outfield players has had a vital role to play, and we are just 9 games in to what will be at very least 49, but up to a maximum of 67 games this season.
We now have players returning to the squad. The Chelsea XI will hopefully be the XI that started v Norwich.
The games now come thick and fast. Even with a 2wk international break, we play 7 games between now and the end of October - every available weekend and weekday until then.
Plenty of games to ensure everyone gets games, and we are still fresh come the end of it.

"Any player at any stage can pick up an injury....criticising Rose's selection with the benefit of 20:20 hindsight is rubbish. If he came through uninjured then no one would have uttered a comment about his selection."
LB and CB are positions where the squad is currently vulnerable to injuries. So AVB must tread carefully where he can, and use opportunities to progress some Academy players where possible.
