Tears for The Overlooked One

Jose Mourinho cried when it emerged that Sir Alex Ferguson had decided to appoint David Moyes as Man United manager, according to a new book in Spain.

El Pais journalist Diego Torres claims in a book called 'Preparense Para Perder' that Mourinho thought he was certain to be offered the job at Man United, and reacted badly when Moyes was appointed instead.

Mourinho, fed by his devoted agent [Jorge Mendes] believed that Ferguson, as well as an ally, was his friend and Godfather. He was convinced that they enjoyed a friendship of genuine trust. He thought that his fabulous collection of titles, two European Cups, seven League Cups and four in four different countries, constituted an endorsement no other candidate had. When he learnt he had chosen Moyes, Mou was incredulous. He screamed: ‘But he’s won nothing!’

I see some parallels between Chelsea fans this season and our one last season.

There were a core lot of ours who simply would not criticise AVB last season, no matter what selection decisions he made, tactics he employed or players he tried to sell or marginalised.

I see it this season with Jose. Virtually every Chelsea fan would have said Mata was up there for player of the year last season with Bale/Suarez/RVP. He has won their award for the last two years. However now Mourinho doesn't fancy him, a lot of their fans sheepishly agree with Mourinho.

Galv, that's exactly my thoughts.

Despite what the Chelsea fans may tell you, this isn't The Return of The King.

He was sacked the first time, pushed out at Madrid, wanted United, and now slinked backed to Chelsea.

I don't think he has the hunger anymore, to be honest.
