Rip Peter.
Apparently the player George Best wanted to be when he was a kid.

Peter Knowles gives a marvellous description
“I was cleaning the stadium out, the South Bank, and the first team was on the pitch training. That’s when I first saw him. It was like watching a skater on ice. He must have flowed over the pitch.”

Undoubtedly Wolves greatest ever player he was a very modest man who would never tell you that he used to be a famous footballer.
In later life I got to know him when we used his babywear shop in Halesowen. When we first got talking he said, incredibly, " Do you remember me ? " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No one who saw him would ever forget him and an uncle of mine, a rank Albion fan with virtually nothing good to say about Wolves, always called him Peter The Great

My father in law and several guys I used to work with maintain he was the best they ever saw in any shirt, not just the gold and black.
As we as all know, legend is an over used word in football these days, but it should be reserved for players like Peter Broadbent.
