Any once think he's unlucky not to be a regular in the England squad.
Doubt he will be picked today.

And to be fair, Cole and Baines are very good so it's no shame if he doesn't get picked.

Wouldn't mind seeing him as LB and Baines as LW.

Do a better job than Young or Milner that's for sure!

From a club point of view i'd rather he got 2 weeks off every few months while the other clowns are playing LB for England.

I think so yes. Listening to andy goldstein the other night on an undisclosed sports radio station after the Napoli win and he said when is England gonna finally realise Gibbs deserves a call-up. And this plonker Arsenal fan on the phone said not for some time because he has too much to learn and his positioning is awful. I just can't quite understand what this fool meant. Positioning wise I think Gibbs is fairly spot on, he rarely is the one caught out in our offside trap, that is normally left for Jenko or Kos. And basically for the entirety of this season he has been playing leftback and left wing himself as we've been playing with Wilshere or Ozil in front of him.
His tackling is class, his pace is class, he can pass it well long and short, can put in a decent cross and has a couple of goals in him aswell. His real weakness for me is attacking the ball in the air, he has a slight tendency to let the ball bounce or head it into dangerous places. But this is just something that will get better with more experience. He is another one of our English core who is improving month to month.
For me he is the most natural replacement for Cole in the England set-up, who has been our most consistent performer throughout the so-called golden generation. I still like Baines and think he is absolute class but for me I don't think there is a lot in it between him and Gibbs. Baines can provide great attacking ability, but can he against the big boys on an international stage. Gibbs has got the experience at a higher level and has for about four-five years now. If we want someone to naturally slip into Cole's shoes, for me its Gibbs, if we want to mix things up then its Baines. Either is a suitable option.
