I read yesterday that we are interested in signing Wesley Sneijder, apparantely.
Has anyone else heard this story? I hope its true.

Sneijders wages at Inter are £250,000 per week tax-free
Premier league players are taxed 50%
Just can't see how united are going to afford him unless they strike a deal with player bonuses, image rights, etc..
or you could give him £500,000 per week?

They arent 250k tax free mate. They are about 200k after tax. Which means we have to bump that up with signing on fee, image rights and getting Nike involved. It can be done and I think that it may well happen.

With no disrespect to Inter, United are just much more popular world wide. Because of this, players receive huge image rights bonuses, not to mention our links with Nike and Audi etc.
Also, it opens further doors to huge sponsorship and advertising deals...I imagine that our TV deals are more lucrative than those of Italy's which would appease his wife who works in that industry...
I don't think personal terms would be the big issue, I think it's United and Inter agreeing a fee and if Fergie even wants to sign him as he's stated on many occasions he does not.

If he wont take a pay cut to join United at his stage in his career then he can do one.
We are Man United ffs. We will carry on just the same without him. One player wont make that much difference.

Fergie has repeatedly said there's no real interest. The Captain "reports" that we are, but I'm beginning to think she's just a compulsive gossip so I'll take Fergie's word for it till proved otherwise.

Well if all he cares about is earning 250k a week, then we should tell him do one.
Any player who isnt happy playing for us on a 200k a week wage (albeit this is massively taxed) is an idiot
