Disagree with the comments about Townsend, he was our main creative outlet today and has proved in the last few games he is learning quickly and not just looking to get a shot off. A couple of the balls he played in should have been supported by the left winger coming in. Personally I'd like to see him on the left with Lamela right, could be a really good combination.

Townsend first half looking to beat his man and get crosses in looked effective and dangerous. In my view the second half he began to cut inside more which just took him into traffic.

BAE better grow up and stop the silliness that led him going out to QPR when he is recalled, because we need squad strength at LB.

AVB+, to be fair to Townsend he seemed to be frustrated that nobody was there to get on the end of the crosses he was putting in....I got the impression he started coming in more as he felt he was better off just trying to hit a worldy than play a cross into an empty penalty area

Could be right. He was our best player today I thought and looked most likely to make something happen. I'd quite like to see him given a run on the left as an out and out winger.

Perhaps if he grows up and stops trying to live this "too for school" myth (not towing the line and repeatedly incurring fines over irrelevances like the matchday hotel etc) , then AVB would have less ammo to get rid.

At the end of the day it was a bad defeat and AVB did get it wrong.

IMO the problem is we are playing the same way at home as we are away from home. We are nowhere near adventurus enough at home and the spammers made us pay for that. We have not scored many goals at all so far this season and to be honest we dont look like we will.

Not including today we have looked difficult to beat but the writing was on the wall last week when chel ski battered us 2nd half. We really need to be a far bigger threat going forwards if we are going to have a decent season.
