Imagine if we had lost that City game some time in february and had an easier fixture replacing the one we actually played. We would more than likely be 4 points off top. With the confidence that the top team (Arsenal) would probably slip away because they still have exactly the same starters as last season with the exception of Ozil. And 1 player doesn't turn your mediocre team in to world beaters over night.
Still 3 and 4 points behind City and Chelsea, with a harder fixture list. I think we are in a really good position and if Moyes can get his tactics right, we still stand a brilliant chance in the league.
League table.

We facking struggled against the worst team in the league
-
We once lost to Southend 1-0, when we had Ronaldo and Rooney on the pitch while Sir Alex was our Manager. They're not even in our league!

You can blame david moyes on that one

Haven't read the replies but the obvious retort is "what constitutes an easy game?" We lost at home to West Brom the following week. We play Southampton at home in our next game. Every single indicator in terms of form, their defence and our weaknesses in creativity suggest that we won't be victorious. Let's not rewrite fixture lists and talk about winnable games. If we weren't man united we would not be favourites with any bookie going into our next fixture. Win that and I will say we're moving in the right direction.

All the games we play will be hard but playing anybody outside Chelsea, City, pool and Arsenal constitutes an easier game.

Sorry but this first paragraph very clearly doesn't sound much suggest that some games are easier than others as suggest that we had played anyone other than City that match, we would be 3 points better off. There is very little to support that viewpoint.

How did you translate that as 'anyone other' ?
The key word was easier, I would assume that most people that read that would have teams that finished below top 5 or 6 last season, popping into there heads.

I would assume that suggesting that had we played anyone else other than City in that run of games, we would be 3 points better off. I would assume that is entirely presumptuous. Particularly that our next match is at home to Southampton, a team who are superior to a West Brom team we lost to in our last home match.
Which is why I suggested you should reassess your viewpoint on our season so far after we play that match. I just don't like people trying to pull positive positions from nowhere. Because people who produce negatives with substance (which your article lacks) get ripped to shreds. We are not in 4 points off the top, we are 7. And that would be the case on playing any number of teams, not just those we have played.

Basically, given that we lost to West Brom in our next game, it follows that an "easier" game must be easier than West Brom at home. Sorry, but we will play infinitely more difficult games than that. So your article turns into a pipedream.
