Taxi for a Mr Valencia

Reports in Turkey suggest that Mancini is contemplating a number of moves in the winter transfer window to strengthen the squad he inherited from Fatih Terim.

And according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik, Mancini is hopeful the Ecuador international can be persuaded to leave Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order under David Moyes.

It is thought that Galatasaray will offer Untied approximately £12.5m for Valencia and will back it up with a wage packet worth almost £3.5m a year.

Galatasaray could face competition for Valencia from Everton, who are interested in the 28-year-old as a makeweight in any deal for Leighton Baines.

I'd be more that happy if there's an ounce of truth in this Express story. Valencia's isn't going to recapture his form from a couple of sesaons back plus he can't even cross a football ffs - a basic requirement of a winger. So frustrating watching him play, knowing what he's capable of but it's just not happening so it's surely that time. We should throw in Young as a sweetener too.

For the team to evolve the way it needs to, he should leave or have his role reduced.

Form everyone keeps harping on that will come back actually comes from readjusting when what you were doing before stops working. Rooneys form (which is gradually dropping again) came from working his assof in training. Giggs overcame is drop by changing his style completely. Carrick found his form by being the best of a bad bunch.

Players after their peak get worse with time. Valencia has actually been getting worse for some time. So too rooney. So too carrick. So too vidic and rio and evra. It just stabilized in our eyes. Yet our team continue dropping and people wonder why it is?

Class is permanent when at your peak. Many of ours are not and that includes valencia.

The ones that seem to think valencia should stay are probably on the same line of thought as MoN in thinking Young is as good as messi

Valencia has been shocking for utd for nearly two seasons and cannot cross a ball and some utd fans say he is good? What idiots What next, say anderson will turn good when he reaches 35??

valencia has actually been good for us for a whole season, anderson has been cack his whole career bar a few games, i think he's deserved abit of leway, maybe a diff position? centre midfield maybe, plays pretty well for ecuador there

I was never Valencia's biggest fan, he loves the club and I respect that, but the ability isn't there.

Comparison ms of our wingers to Europe's other big teams is nothing short of embarrassing.

Don't get me wrong, he was brilliant for quite a stretch, but he's too one dimensional for the wings, anyone can predict what he is going to do. If anything your suggestion of placing him more inwards isn't a bad idea, but, the main problem for him is you'll have more capable players in his way. There's already huge competition for advanced positions and can't see where else he'll get games anywhere else.

All in all, if he added changes to his game, then he'll have solutions to the questions the opposition gives him Just pace is not going to get him anywhere against decent defences. And thats why he has been poor for a long while now.

The problem with utd of recent is hanging on to players who have been struggling for a number of seasons and show no progression towards changing the form of themselves; Anderson and valencia (and there are other too) who should be moved on, and utd using the money to bring quality. I would not blame Moyes for this, SAF should shoulder most, if not all blame of an increasing amount of acceptence of poor performances (over a long period) or not clearing out players who aren't really going to improve the side.

no dis-respect to utd, but there midfield is terrible, teams like swansea and southampton (and more) have a much better midfield than utd. Because utds defence and strikeforce make than one of the top teams.

Utd have been found out by virtually every big side and technically sound teams. Its why utd have played very defensive over the last few years, and have of late been below par in the cl plus they're not confident to take teams toe to toe in terms of technical football and midfield. utd really tactical and technical have not moved with the times. the midfield is the key to all battles on the pitch, dominating the middle, you control the game.

Season before last Valencia was voted player of the season.

Personally, I do actually prefer Nani on the right flank but to say Valencia has been poor for more than 1 season is wrong

He did stink out the place last season but it's a tad unfair to completely write off a player after 1 poor season, particularly when he has only just turned 28

Although Nani is not always preforming but you know that nani got more chance of doing productive and dangerous against the opposition. Valencia, defenders know that he'll just bomb it down the wing, stop for half an hour before making a poor cross. Basically the oppositon are making him in-effective. He does a decent job defensively but attacking wise, im not sure if he is good enough. Against the good and bad sides he;s played poor bar Bayern L. Probably because its obviously not often the two sides play eachother. They don't know how he works when all the prem does know.

Malouda was Chelsea POTY in 2009/10 but after a poor next season (which was still better than Valencia last season), he should have been sold and replaced.
