Is Fantasy premier league to blame?

In the build up to tonight's England world cup qualifier versus Montenegro I was trying to think why I can't seem to get interested in it.
My first thought was maybe the fact that I have somewhat given up on believing that we are capable of winning a major tournament as a nation,unfortunately. I say unfortunatley as I have always been a die hard England fan.
Then I thought of another reason, which was that this weekend I will not have to make a captain choice, not get to check who's scored or assisted in the host of premier league games which would normally be being played.
Is the Fantasy premier league partly to blame for our lack of interest in International football? Or is it just me?
