I'm not normally one to believe anything from the Daily Mail, but it seems to think it is correct about Cole coming to Spurs.
Now I know we might lose Kranjcar, and Pienaar is alledgedly not happy, but surely this means either VDV or Modric would leave for alot of money?
And to add to that, how is Joe Cole a like for like replacement for Modric?
It also states the ovbious that Alan Hutton, Robbie Keane, David Bentley, Wilson Palacios, Sebastien Bassong and Giovani Dos Santos are all surplus to requirements.
If Cole is signed this week, then will he not just be another player to add to that list, that doesn't play that often and seems slightly past their sell by date?
Sunday morning rage, and annoyance at the thought of Modric leaving, but I'm glad to see JA606 up and running again. Just hope its not too late.

Spurs should be only adding players of better quality to their current squad to prepare for a sustained challenge to get back in the top 4.In my opinion neither Joe cole nor the 40yr old Friedel fall into that category and if they lose modric,without the lure of champions league football,how will they attract players of that quality in a congested market place with all teams above them likely to be doing some serious shopping in this window?

No Friedel was a good option. We needed competition for Gomes desperately and Friedel is a solid pair of hands and probably the best of who was realistically available to us (City weren't going to sell us Given).
Joe Cole on the other hand is a complete waste. What is Harry's obsession with getting as many midfielders as possible?

Joe Cole is a player that has gone backwards in a big way over the last 2-3 years. i would be gutted if we brought him in TBH.
typical Harry signing with old connections to previous clubs. if he thinks it is ok to bring Cole and Parker in and then sell Modric, then he is sadly mistaken. i can see all this happening TBH, really can
please Levy pull the plug on any Cole deal!!
