The Winds of Change

606 members and social media users worldwide have anxiously awaited our return for many months, ever since we ceased our wave of terror on V2, and we thank all those of you who sent us letters and emails pleading for our return. When we debuted our Twitter feed just last week, the frenzied clamour to follow us caused one of Twitter’s servers to crash. Our account was verified within a day - no doubt many of you contacted Twitter and insisted upon it.

We may polarize opinion but rest assured we do only what’s best for business. Our organisation has always abided by the mantra: Controversy Creates Cash.

Social media blew up after ‘Hans Gate’ on V2 earlier this year. We used our resources to fund and operate a plethora of fake user accounts in order to rig the voting results of the once-in-a-lifetime V2 G.O.A.T tournament, to crown the greatest athlete in history. Step-by-step we exerted our clandestine influence, ensuring only our chosen competitors progressed. Our mark was made.

Who could forget the infamous 'Imposter Hits' that took place over the Summer of '09? You must remember the panic that spread like wildfire, as poster turned on poster, and self-proclaimed vigilante, Woofie (a victim of the ingenious hits), vowed to find the culprit. Surely you have guessed by now that it was we, The Main Event Lads, who impersonated known Nadal fans to give the effect that they were defecting to Roger Federer.

Do we feel remorse? We feel none.

These actions were indeed officially sanctioned by our leader, King Roger, Himself. Federer's unyielding support of our actions and political influence facilitated our return, time after time, under various guises despite widespread condemnation. As a symbol of allegiance to Federer, we became the self-ordained Godparents to his twins, little Myla and Charlene, and we continue to watch over them from afar.

At this point, we would like to offer a hat-tip to our old adversary ‘duggietoo’, who unfortunately fell into ill-health, leaving 606 forever. We may have crossed ideological swords on a regular basis but we shared a mutual respect. Duggie respected our intelligence & talent, and we in turn respected the gumption & temerity with which the Ol’ Dog bit at our heels.

People of 606, rest assured that we will not abandon you. Put your faith in us and we will lead you to salvation.
