VETTEL BECOMING PROST "ESQUE"

bonsoir again buds ----- martial here

As we all know or maybe some of us dont know alain prost is one of the very , very , very , elite and rare all time great drivers and was one of the quickest and most intelligent drivers ever to grace the cockpit of a F1 car ,
from the current generation only alonso and vettel on some levels can hold a candle to him , none of the other current lot come remotely close or ever look as if they will come remotely close to the mercurial frenchman ,

however ----------- for me after his first championship vettel took his abilities and his racecraft intelligence to a higher level and has continued to improve on every level in the yrs that followed and for me his racecraft and understanding of the tyres and how to get the best from the machinery , chassis and tyres is reaching prost like proportions -

of course there is always the occasional pig ignorant comment on here that the 4 x WDC has no racecraft , blah blah blah , but as any semi intelligent F1 fan will know that view is so ignorant of any driver that has won multiple championships let alone vettel you wonder what fairy wonderland these people live on -

however ---------- with regards to vettel , it would appear that wiser more knowledgeable people than myself are also aware that vettel is one very , very , very , very , very , smart cookie

who is this " everybody else" welshy -

sure as fluck isnt horner as he has always stated webber and vettel have equal status , and it cant be webber as he has stated he is not at red bull to play 2nd fiddle to vettel -
-------- which only means this " everybody else " that you talk about have all the credibility of a dustbin lid

Shall we just wait for Webber's autobiography

I look forward to Webber's autobiography, though I don't think much new will come out since Webber is pretty good at spilling the beans whilst its happening.

Unless you've had your head in the sand for several years it won't be surprising to hear what 2nd class treatment Webber has accepted so that his average talent got to drive the mighty Red Bull.

He almost got one WDC but I think he should be happy with his total number of wins and podiums, although I'm wandering off topic here.

can you give us a few examples of " what 2nd class treatment webber has accepted " -

or to put it another way -- examples of how red bull treated an equal no 1 driver unfairly -

must admit i am quite interested to find out how poorly horner and co have been treating webber these past 7 yrs

MA - i can accept your arguments that you think Vettel is in a class of his own.

i cannot belive you think, because Horner says they have equal treatment, that that is true. He has to say they get equal treatment, its the professional thing to do. The reality is they arent, i noticed how seb got a massive penalty for disobeying team orders.

I dont think you would ever change your mind, and i dont want you to, but i cannot accept how you get to your opinions, when you have so much ammo to have a perfectly valid point..

Could you list me 5 different reasons why Vettel WOULDNT be considered the best driver?

hear what you are saying bw , for me there comes a time when you have to take exceptionally intelligent people such as a team principle at face value ,

horner from what i have seen of him on the sky f1 broadcast ( which is quite alot ) comes across as fairly honest and ethical so personally i will give him that respect until i see otherwise , and from what i have seen over the yrs red bull in general have treated both drivers relatively fairly -

as for vettel , what would be the point of a fine as he is a millionaire many times over , and thinking logically what else could they have done to him without pissssing him off to much -- might not be the smartest move to pisss off the driver that potentially will decimate every record that has ever been set in our sport -

as for your question -- to be honest i dont think there is alot between vettel and alonso , i suppose in all honesty it would not surprise me if alonso would just have the edge if they had equal equipment -
---- i just cant call it at the moment between the pair as they would both seem to have no weaknesses or flaws -

must admit vettel"s idiotic habit of chasing the fastest lap every race might well come back to kick him in the bollox one day --

Its the fact he is exceptionally intelligent, and savvy that he would never ever ever ever say that Webber is a number 2 driver

Do you think hamilton is in alonso's or vettells league?

as i said before bw no2 drivers are not allowed to challenge for a WDC as webber did in 2010 , neither are no 2 drivers told they can win the race because the no 1 has been instructed not to pass them

as for your question bw -- no i dont ,

i personally think as soon as the fia stopped the fuel stop formula a few yrs ago it has worked against hamilton , as we know his best yrs were during the fuel stop era where the races were nothing more than short sprints where the drivers could rag the tyres and fuel and the respective teams think tanks with there cutting edge software doing all the drivers thinking for them a week before the race was run -

as soon as the fuel stop formula stopped and the drivers to a certain extent had to think for themselves the savvy drivers had the advantage and drivers like hamilton who is not one of the savvy drivers has suffered to a certain extent --

and to answer your question i personally think under the current rules of no fuel stops and not ragging the tyres in equal equipment vettel and alonso would blow hamilton off no problem -

G Anderson rates him alongside Vettel and Alonso, Johnny herbert said in an evening i went to that he was the best driver on the grid.

Since 2008 he has won 13 GP's fernando has won 11.

Probably would have been more if Mclaren wherent so carp last season, and the number of retirements he had.

You talk about intelligence quite a lot, despite not knowing any of the drivers.

"Blow hamilton off no problem" - thats a plain ridiculous comment. SERIOUSLY? No problem? even Alonso says as a driver he fears hamilton the most. Why do you hate him so much?

can only judge by what i have seen bwf--- as for herbert saying hamilton is the best on the grid , not on the sky F1 broadcast on which he is one of the main pundits he does not say that mate ---- no matter

" you talk about intelligence quite alot despite not knowing any of the drivers "
--- not quite sure where you are going with that one bwf as all of us on here have a reasonably basic knowledge of who is currently driving what and for whom -

" since 2008 he has won 13 gps fernando has won 11"

not quite sure if you understood my point about the end of the fuel stop era and hamilton , since the fuel stops ended in 2010 alonso has comprehensively outscored hamilton in every season since which is 4 consecutive seasons which for me casts doubts on hamiltons racecraft and tyre savvy in race trim ,
---------- the last 2 races , india and abu dhabi are perfect examples of what i am talking about -

as for hating hamilton ---- why would i , i dont even know him , to be honest he comes across as a likeable bloke ,
with respect this is a harmless formula 1 forum and there is nothing wrong in giving harmless opinions on any driver we like and you cannot reasonably expect forum members to care about fellow forum members delicate senseabilities to whatever driver ---

as for " thats a plain ridiculous comment "

from what i have seen of lewis these last 4 yrs and this season in particular not only do i believe vettel and alonso would blow him off in equal equipment of a sunday afternoon , i have a strong suspicion that hulkenberg and grosjean would also have hamiltons number of a sunday afternoon in the same machinery
