Can someone please tell me how Switzerland are ranked in the top 8? If you look at their qualifying group, they got a couple more points than us but our goals for we're far superior. Plus the teams we played, overall, were higher ranked than Switzerland's.
So how can Switzerland have amassed more ranking points than England?

But yeah, above Holland, who were also unbeaten?! Madness!
I just read that because Poland and Ukraine hosted Euro 2012 and therefore didn't have to qualify, they were ranked lower so our ranking points against them weren't as high!
The whole system is still utterly confusing. It is meant to take in to account campaigns over numerous years, so how can Belgium be seeded when this is the first tournament they've qualified for in over a decade?! Also Uruguay; have to go through a play off but will be seeded if they win...WHAT?!

Because the Swiss were 3rd seeds in their group they gained more points by beating the higher ranked teams.
