This match/series needs looking into

Seriously, this series has been such an uneven contest (not really a contest) and India looks like getting another battering.

They are supposed to be the number one side in test cricket yet their batting is weak, their bowling powder puff and their fielding worse than schoolboys.

On TMS, they were describes as Bangladesh in disguise. That comparison would certainly flatter them.

Why have India suddenly become so poor that they cannot score 300 in 5 innings yet they have some of the top scorers in test cricket.....ghambir, dravid, laxman, tendulkar, dhoni and you can't get to 300?

There bowling has always been their weaker side but this is as poor as any team visiting England for quite a few years I would think.

The fielding at first was comically bad but now it is becoming embarrassing.

I can't believe that it is down to the new coach, so why have India fallen so badly and so quickly?

If Bangladesh had played like that today everyone would be calling for their test status to be revoked. In the four tests they played against England last year they never look as bad as India today. They played with pride and passion within their limitations. Something that can't be said of a number of the Indian players today (Praveen Kumar a side)

It's not as simple as that. They were a good team, but clearly not good enough to pick themselves up after two pastings. Maybe being able to do that is what makes a good team great.

The Broad/ Swann partnership and the Broad hat-trick was the moments that turned this from a contest to a mauling.

I have been watching India for the tour of the west indies before this and they were just as bad, the issues the batsmen are currently having were there it was just that west indies are dire and couldn't take advantage

They are not taking cricket seriously at the moment and it dosnt suprise me that one of the on guys not playing in the IPL in dravid is consistantly their top scorer

They don't want to be here and you look at what they have called up to replace injuries and you see a massive problem for Indian cricket coming over the horizon

Fletcher is a good coach but do people not remeber how bad we were in the field under his tenure???

England have been improving in the field since the time of David Lloyd. Fletcher was a big part of that improvement.

Think playing in English conditions, the toughest for any visiting team.

If Eng can repeat the performance when they visit India which I believe they will, then there is no denying this English team will rule cricket, like the Aussies not so long ago.

Looks like Ind has already given up,looking from their body language.

they didn't even bother to take their first team to the WIndies.

You can have all the money in the world, but you can't buy pride or dignity.

India look like a team who know they are beaten.

Confidence is a big thing in sport.

I've been reading some of the opinions & comments from some Indian national newspapers online; the popular consensus for the team's appalling run of form seems to point to the IPL and the BCCI prioritizing that over all else.

Lots of Indians commented how embarrassing their test side has become, and that it brings shame to their country. Clearly money talks and little else matters for some of the players in the team.

I have been watching test cricket for over 30 years, and I have to say this is the worst Indian side I have ever seen. In fact if I had just returned from Mars and switched the TV of for the first time in months I'd swear England were playing Bangladesh (with all due respect to them).

For the sake of test match cricket we need the India of old, where pride comes before quick riches.

Fat chance of that happening until the BCCI rethinks its strategy

You know what I'm thankful for?

Allan Stanford being caught out as a massive crook.

Had he not, the English players would have been tied into playing in a similar T20 IPL type tournament, which would have possibly impacted on some of the Test team.

T20 cricket has it's place as a domestic tournament in individual countries, a few games during each tour and the WC every 4 years, but to have a tournament like the IPL for 3 months every year is not sustainable.

I seriously hope for the sake of the standard of cricket that the IPL dies a death very soon.

I've been very suprised by the lack of fight shown by the Indian team - if you've played the game at any level, you'll be aware of the attitude needed for particularly tough matches (and this case, a series of matches), and you tend to look at your team-mates to see if they've got that look in their eye that tells you they're up for it.

If they have, you usually win - if they haven't, you usually lose.

India have never looked like a side mentally capable of winning a Test.
