Sterling will be fine. The vast majority of young players have ups and downs during their development. He probably won't start to properly flourish for a couple of years yet.

Wow, we are writing off teenagers that can't establish themselves in a team full of international players, bit harsh.

From very promising beginnings we have a lot of our Academy players failing to make the grade.

Tht happens alot at every club, the standard is now so high. i wonder how many at each club in the league shine at U21 level and make the grade in the first team/PL full time.

Not writing them off exactly. But didn't you think if these players coming through we're deemed good enough we may not have purchased the players we have?

Sterling is still 18 FFS.
When he is 21/22 I expect him to be a top player.
Between now and then he will have ups and downs.
He hasn't been helped by our current formation which basically leaves him redundant.

You're lucky if you get one first teamer every two years really and that goes for any academy in the top half of the Premier League.
Spurs have just got shot of a load and their first team is excellent.
All the LFC players listed will have a career but I would say only Sterling and Ibe will make it in the first team. Robinson will be a squad player if he wants to stay as it all helps with quotas in Europe. Suso, I suspect, will play in a top league but not in this country. Wisdom could so well for us I reckon and I think his loan is because we are so heavy in that area. A couple of the younger players could be very good such as Mclaughlin and Rossiter but it's very early days especially with the latter.
All guess work of course but I've been watching the youth team for years and it's always the same. Welsh, Lee Jones to now Tex and Morgan.
If you think about it the players that have gone on to do well (Owen, Fowler, McManaman, Gerrard) all absolutely creamed it at that level and none went on loan. It's not really a good sign most of the time in my opinion. You want them training with the best players, best coaches and with the best sports science.

A very telling assessment, spot on as far as I'm concerned.
