Who would you like us to sign?

Following on from S.E's article advocating the need for reinvestment. Who would you like to see us go for?

There are obvious glaring weakness' in our squad which have been highlighted over the past few weeks. There is a real sense that some players need to be shown the exit door and a few new faces need to come in and freshen things up. Who could possibly come in and do this, and why?

Is it a case of us playing below our capabilities? I think so. However, it could be argued that Fergie elevated this crop of players to play above and beyond their abilities and Moyes cannot quite replicate the great mans magic in getting that extra mile out of everyone. The doom mongers will have you believe that the title is gone and the top 4 is difficult. There is some weight to their argument and how much activity we see in the next window will in my opinion, hinge on where we are sitting come January. I believe Moyes will begin to put his own stamp on which is pretty much Sir Alex's team come the summer.

This is why I believe Moyes needs time to begin to implement his own ideals and style, and although he was not my first choice, I will get fully behind him. Klopp was my ideal man for the job, his pedigree and success' speak for themselves and I would have loved to have seen him manage us, but we'll leave that for another time.

Evra and Rio look to be in their last seasons with us and will more than likely need replacing come the summer. Do we need to actually go out and buy a centre back? I wouldn't be adverse to it, but in Vidic, Smalling, Evans & Jones with Keane being brought into the fold I believe there are other pressing areas for concern. I firmly believe that whatever partnership Moyes opts for, we need to defend higher up the pitch.

As highly as I rate Baines I'd probably avoid that signing but if Moyes wants him I reckon he'd be fantastic for us. I'd be looking at either Coentrao or Shaw but there seems to be a real dearth of quality left backs currently.

The midfield is lacking a combative player who is energetic and creative. We are too slow in the middle of the park so a signing of that ilk would be essential. Who would you like to see? Gundogan would be the perfect candidate but would be hard to prise away. I'd like to see us go out all guns blazing for him in the summer. Will Hughes from Derby is a future star and we have Nick Powell knocking on the door. We may go back in for Herrera and the other Spanish midfielder I'd love to see us try for would be Koke at Atletico Madrid.

It all depends on Moyes' formation and style but I think most folks will agree that a 4-2-3-1 is the way forward. It certainly would be for me. I hope Moyes continues to play Januzaj who in time will become world class. Players such as Draxler, Cabella, Griezmann, Depay should be considered for the attacking positions behind the striker and I'm sure there will be some more up and coming talents that Moyes is having scouted and considered. Rooney and RvP will hopefully forge that partnership we have all been waiting for and our attack should hopefully look a force once more.

All in all, who do you believe we could realistically get to come in and improve us?

What areas would you look to strengthen?

"Wtf are you mumbling about.
Paulinho is a perfect player for a 4-4-2 set up.
He is a tough tackling box to box mid fielder who can get forward and chip in with goals too.
He would be perfect alongside Carrick"

When he gets the ball, looks up, and doesn't see any player in front of him for 30 yards, he won't play at his best. He looks good at Spurs because he's a good footballer foremostly and they have a link man between midfield and attack in Eriksen or even Holtby. We don't have that. Carrick doesn't have it, neither does Fellaini, or Anderson, or Cleverley. Until there is somebody to pass the ball to, then our midfield will continue to get overrun and look predictable.

Rooney is cemented alongside Van Persie if you haven't noticed. It's like the 90's. If he was dropping deeper like a genuine #10, or better, we had one of Kagawa or Januzaj in there, our midfield would see so much more of the ball, in my opinion.

God you dont half watch Unted do you. You think Rooney plays up top in the box for 90 minutes?

Two midfielders:

Ideally one of Vidal, Matic, Marchisio, Lars or Sven Bender, Sandro, Kondogbia and one of Gundogan, Koke, Herrera, Banega, Pjanic, Modric, Rakitic although he's arguably best used further forward or even perhaps Mateo Kovacic.

A left back:

Shaw would be excellent but I'd be happy with Coentrao who I'd personally prefer to Baines. De Sciglio would be brilliant as well.

In the wide areas we have Nani, Zaha who needs to be given a chance, Januzaj although he's best in a freerole where he can do what he wants and doesn't have to provide much defensive cover and Lingard who will hopefully stay at Birmingham the rest of the season and come back next season ready to feature for our first team.

Valencia if he could actually beat his man, is a useful and different option to have although I'd prefer to see Young and Valencia moved on and someone brought in who's used to a more fluid type of play.

Reus would be a dream, other players would include Insigne, Antoine Griezmann, Draxler although IMO he's best starting central, Shaqiri, Muniain, Fischer, Bakkali if he was bought now and given regular game-time could develop into something incredibly special in the future. Lazar Markovic for Benfica could also come under the special category.
