I actually agree with Mad Max about something.

The decision to re-schedule the Bahrain GP was monumentally stupid IMHO, and purely driven by greed and the Poison Dwarf's desire to engratiate himself with anything aproaching royalty.
Unfortunately, the waters are further muddied by the facts that VMM have a large Bahrain based shareholder and Ferrari sell a hell of a lot of cars there, which sort of puts paid to Bernie's wailings that the decision has nothing to do with money.
PS. What happened to this site for the past few days, any truth in the rumours that the Beeb did not like it using their format?
I don't beleive it..!!!

I figured that it was another alternative 606 site trying to nobble the competition
Anyway I'm glad it's back

I agree, Max makes valid points and that he'd still be President that he wouldnt be letting it happen.
Still, however what can anyone do when Bernie makes the decision but I can see many drivers boycotting it and I wouldnt be surprised if many teams start to withdraw before its on.
(Still if I was the Indian GP commitee, I wouldnt be pleased to have the race move!)

agreed - reinstating the race was a case of putting commercial interests ahead of moral and human ones...very sad.

Foxes,
It was the FIA's decision to put the race back on, but I doubt if Bernie was unhappy about it.
As for the drivers or teams boycotting the event, the teams are contractually bound to attend the race, and I could not see any of the WDC contenders electing not to go (unless Vettel has it sewn up by then.)
Even if the FOTA teams did boycott it, HRT would be perfectly within their rights to turn up and race, claiming a nice freebie 1-2. The rule about the minimum number of competitors would not apply, as non attenting teams would be disqualified.
On a slight tangent, imagine you have booked the time off from work, have your flights and hotel sorted out and paid for, and you're looking forward to the 1st Indian GP, not going to be a happy bunny.
