I think I am slowly warming to this approach. Thinking about it in more detail (due to the new FM beta) I can see how this approach fits into BR's philosophy.
Gonna renege on my earlier prediction of future style. And say that we'll stick with this formation. Or at the most, sign a DM and play him instead of the most central CB. Swings and roundabouts though.

Slightly off topic...what's the FM beta like? I haven't bought FM since 08 (continued to edit the database) but I'm a little moist at what I've been told about the new one!

Yeah it's actually good so far. Prefer it a lot compared to other previous installments thus far - despite being bad at it so far. The tactic system has had an overhaul as well. Getting rid of the sliders and replacing them with instructions etc. And I feel it forces you to watch the match and make adjustments accordingly whereas on previous iterations if your tactic was good enough you could just sit back and relax whilst it plays out.
Recommend it. Especially due to your outdated match engine as well.

Actually I don't think it's the system BR prefers. I recommend checking out his 8 zone system which is basically a 433. I'm not a fan of playing with 3 CB's, it makes us look awkward. I recall Brendan saying we played better football last season but didn't get the results. Now we're not playing so attractively and getting results, hope the style will follow but I don't think it will with 3-5-2
