The last 10 mins where Dortmund spent diving around, and trying to slow down the play said it all.
Obviously, one cannot expect them to play an expansive and open game then. But there was an air of desperation about it.
Arsenal deserved a point from that game. Very unlucky to have lost that game.
Hopefully, they'll kick on and continue where they left off in the Prem this weekend.
Very Unfortunate To Lose Yesterday

That would be the one! Sugar coated slightly of course. Like I said I watched the game live and the incident was at the other end of the pitch. Haven't seen the highlights since so didn't realise that was the case. Lets just leave it at goal line clearance and hitting the bar!

I would like us to go out of the CL and concentrate on the league where we have a real chance.
CL requires a fair amount of luck and concentration for 100% of the game. We are too young in key positions for that amount of consistency and our squad is too weak.

I completely disagree with you. Age has nothing to do with it. All of our players have years and years of experience of playing CL football. We aren't a team of teenagers like we used to be 4 years ago.
We should be trying to get a point in Germany and then from their we will go into the last game against Napoli in control of our destiny.
With our team, we are a dark horse for this competition. Dortmund are probably 3rd favourites and we didn't look like much worse team. Naive as Wenger said but he will get his tactics right for the second match.
This loss came at the right time for us. It wasn't in the league of in a knockout competition. We can recover and learn from it and become a better team.
If we can get a good run with Theo and Flamini back we are a match for any European team (apart from maybe Munich). We shouldn't be scared of playing anyone anymore.

jenius is right.
this false hope of having the players to win the CL is beyond reason.
the only point i disagree with is that the team is too young because we have much more experience but the coaching and tactics remain the same!!
its better if we just concentrate on the league as we have more chance of winning that than the cl.

I dont think we should go for one point in Dortmund. We should go for a win there. Dortmund's defense is average and Giroud showed how vulnerable it can be.
J99, we will never know if OG would have been able to put a half chance away because we couldnt cross the ball from our flanks and all we creating came from himself of Rosicky.
CL League is a cup competition and with our best team we can win against any team.

I agree that Giroud has missed Walcott. His rate of goal scoring has definitely deceased since he has been out. Giroud/Walcott have had a very good understanding ever since Giroud joined us.
Look at yesterday's game as an example that Lewandowski goal was almost out of nowhere. Reus really didn't do much the whole game and Dortmund fed off our mistakes. I agree with Wenger about the few chances that Chesney had to deal with.
But thats just the issue. I think the confidence that will be gained from winning the premier league is the sort of catapult that can lift players like Giroud, Walcott, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ox, Gibbs etc to the higher level of play needed to win the Champions League. The naivety that still exists in our team can only really go away from winning trophies.

I do not rate Chesney. Although one cannot blame him for either goal, would a better keeper have made a better attempt of saving the first? Maybe. I believe he is very naive at judging match situations and his starting position is very dubious. What was he doing rushing out, shortening the distance between himself and attacker's tame shot making the shot look twice as fast for the first goal?
=======================
A GK should not save attempts from just inside the box by falling on his bum. Should've responded and then dived.
Splaying is for 1 on 1s and shots from point blank range only.

I think we can do what Dortmund did to us and surprise them - if we go at them full tempo and press all over the park we can get ahead and then play on the break - as we did to Napoli at home. I agree with the poster above who said we didn't start until 25th minute, after that we were broadly the better team, although Dortmund still looked dangerous on the break.
We can go there and beat them, and we don't have as tough games until then (assuming we play kids vs Chelsea in league cup, which I think is a good policy, even if it means we'll never win that tin pot trophy under Wenger)
