SAF mind games; is he still at it?

Well, the main things in the book are apparently about Keane saying team mates weren't good enough (club not showing ambition) and Beckham chasing fame (wanting out, might regret leaving). Both kind of link to Rooney...

One 'fortunate' outcome is Wayne’s praise for Moyes saying his coaching is better. I wonder if this is really what SAF wanted to achieve.

I don't think that was Ferguson's intention, I genuinely think he wasn't happy with Rooney's performances on the field and attitude off it in terms of fitness.

There has been a frosty relation between Rooney and Ferguson ever since 2010 and with Ferguson leaving and us refusing to sell Rooney I guess Rooney eventually saw this as another chance for him, how long that will last I've no idea but for now things look good although there is still room for improvement.

na doubt it, it was just him sticking to his guns saying that rooney asked him to leave

Brought the book today, fits page I read basically said I should buy his other book

And on the Rooney transfer, nothing has come to light. We knew what the situation was

If Rooney was in this form for the first Madrid game, I think we'd have gone though.

Or your opinion? I'm sure a fit in form Rooney would have increased our chances massively against Real but he was neither fit enough or in good form which IMO was totally his own fault.

Wayne's form now is down to the fact he's back happy again and not being fekked about to cover other players who were more inept than him

He and fergie fell out and Rooney is more to blame than fergie is for that but give moyes credit. It isn't just Rooney that looks fitter either

Last night I saw players looking far fitter and hard working than last season

I have to credit moyes for that considering the battering he has received

Whether intentional or not SAF is deflecting/minimising criticism for Moyes, & galvanising his players behind him. Also raising contentious issues about Liverpool, Steven Gerrard in particular, keeps the press on SAF & off Moyes’s back at this difficult time.
