I, like a lot of people, have found the second half of this season quite boring with Red Bull's dominance once more all but killing off the title hunt very prematurely.
However, I have enjoyed following the thoughts and briefings from Gary Anderson and I think it's been good that the BBC actually have someone from an F1 technical background writing articles. I think most of us F1 followers have a loose grasp of the technical side of things but Gary picks up on details that only someone who'd worked in F1 would ever notice. I found his recent article fascinating: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/24659085
For those who haven't read the article, I advise you do and make sure you check out the video of the thermal imaging camera on the front of the Red Bull.
I'll go on record and say that I'm not particularly fond on Mr Vettel but I'll also say that this thread is in no way aimed at bashing him either. I have noticed many threads on whether it's Vettel's driving that's sublime or whether it's the Red Bull that's just leagues ahead of it's rivals but I prefer not to get involved in those as they always end the same....
Anyway, if Gary Anderson is to be believed, what Red Bull are doing with the underside of their car is quite nifty to say the least. Using metals that expand when heated to make the car run lower to the ground resulting in gains of many tenths of seconds per lap is very clever.
I just found the article a very interesting read and wanted to share.
Gary Anderson on the Red Bull

If only Max Chilton had a car designed by Gary Anderson then clearly he would be leading the WDC.
What is all this current nonsense about Vettel?
All of a sudden, after he has guaranteed his 4th WDC, we have every one queuing up to try to convince the F1 followers that Vettel is not all that bad at all. What took them so long?
Have people not realised that when “experts” are being interviewed they have to be diplomatic and polite about the subject they have been questioned about.
Do people seriously believe that it is just one or two disgruntled F1 fans on this forum that doubt Vettels so called ability?

Damn clever if that's how they do it. Shows the attention to detail Red Bull put in by making sure they have the finest minds behind the scenes & the finest driver on track.

Clever boys, when they do not have ollegal wings or floors, now they use dodgy metaks.
On a serious note, fair play to the team, what irritates me is that a driver who aint all that is beating more gifted drivers

It is quite plain that the Red Bull design philosophy was compromised by this years new tyres.
One commentator, I forget who but it could have been GA himself, said how Christian Horner had always been saying the new tyres did not suit their car, only this morning.
They have got what they want, the old tyres brought back and "races" are strolls in the park not worth getting up for on a dark, miserable October morning.
The Vettel fan-boys lost in awe and wonder can go wide-eyed and astonished at the supreme Vettel all they want, fact is, on the old "new" tyres he struggled for anything remotely approaching dominance, and so did his wonder-car.
Now Red Bull have managed to get the FIA and Pirelli to do their bidding and we are back to the relentless tedium of yesteryear.
