Thoughts on lonergan?
Yesterday was first I had seen him play, after seeing the huge amount of fans saying how 'good' he was, and how much better than Bogdan he is.
Didn't have much to do, 1 shot straight into his midrift. A good recovery line to deny Tunnicliffe but that's the minimum you would expect from a keeper to make himself big and hope for a poor finish.
His distribution is woeful, it causes us a few problems. His ability to read the flight of a ball was questionable also. Above all, he was ok - but if Bogdan had been so poor at distributing, and flapped/mis-judged McGoldrick shot like Lonergan did, the fans would have gone mental IMO.

He's not been playing though. I'd have thought (hope) once he's had a couple of games he'll improve.....

Have to agree on distribution, his kicking is poor which I've seen from him.
Overall though I do think he's a good keeper, an I think Bogdan is too. We have far more pressing problems than between the sticks

I think a goalkeeper should do one very important thing..... Instil confidence in those around him.
Now I can't speak on behalf of the players, or the other fans in the stadium. But Bogdan makes me brick it, the minute he wakes up on a match day...

After two years without totally convincing people Bogdan should be taken out of the firing line. Given time to develop his game and someone else given a chance.
Telling Jussi he would be Bogdans no.. 2 is probably the most stupid thing I have heard.

Lonergan's distribution is far better than Bogdan's. He can actually kick it to the winger without kicking it out.
