I was impressed by Arsene last season, the way we got that fourth spot and the superb form we are in this season in the league and apart from Dortmund, 'one of the best team if not the best attacking team in Europe', we have also done well in our group stage CL. Arsene must also be commended for narturing young talents and turning them into top players example is Ramsey and many more before him.
Saying all that, I have not been impressed with his tactical know how especially when we play top sides or even decent sides because of how we conceded silly goals. We are an attacking team but perhaps one of the few passing sides with defensive weakness that is criminal if not suicidal. We look most vulnerable when in opposition offensive third and are well capable of conceeding goals from us taking corners on the othe end. We saw Arteta getting sent off because our defenders are no where to be seen, we also got punished by Dortmund from their counter attack, while Aston Villa found our defensive soft underbelly from our offensive corner.
These errors are costing us and if you watch Dortmund, they also play offensive game but whenever they lose possession in opposition half, they straight away commit foul so as to get organised. Should Arsenal not win trophies this season because of the aforementioned flaws, will we still want Wenger to continue, I believe the board should be bold under those circumstances and let Wenger move upstairs for a hungry coach like Jürgen Klopp.

lol Dortmund finished 25 points behind the top last season something that Wenger has never done at Arsenal... and Bundesliga is much less competitive. I think you overrate him or underrate Wenger, or both. Klopp is a great manager though but there's no chance he would leave Dortmund now anyway.

To be fair they lost some of their players like Kagawa, Sahin and sold Gotze, also that Bayern team was unstoppable and may be they won several titles and were having a mini break, but this season, they look awesome.

To be fair, I think we setting up slightly different this season, more of a cautious counter attacking style.
Dortmunds goal was probably the only time (bar villa game ) that we have over committed and payed for it severely.
We are actually defending more as a team now.
However, the next two weeks will tell us a lot about this team.

Castor I do rate your opinion, by far the best realistic wise posters here.

We do have a style of play but our defending is questionable, we don't have any defensive strategy and are prone to pile pressure on our defenders by hoping they deal with the pressure and also our GK is put into desperate situation and have saved numerous times. I like Rosicky, he is decent but clueless in detecting danger, I mean consistently, he might deal with one dangerous move but look lost positionally and that goes for Özil, Carzola, Walcott, Wilshere, so with all of them together, we look good going forward but need our full backs to play with handbrake. Giroud is our best defensive aware forward, he does his bits, but to get maximum points next few games, we need a balance, to be ruthless going forward but also switched on when we lose the damn ball, or on set pieces which Liverpool and Chelsea will try to exploit.

Götze was there last season and so was Sahin in second half of the season.

I have seen too many false storms with arsenal in the past where we repeat the same mistakes season after season, especially in the big games.
However, I must admit I have see a different approach this season.
We seem less interested in constant ball retention & there is definite more emphasis on defense this season.
Yes we will concede the odd goal to defensive errors or tactical naivety but thats football.

Last season we were dreadful & gutless in the big games.
I really want to see a difference this team.
Yes the Dortmund game is very tough but I really want us to perform next week & at old trafford where we have been humiliated too many times

I agree with you that we have looked a little like Chelsea in defending numbers especially when it is played in front of us, however, we are easily beaten by one long ball or are good counter like the one Dortmund scored, that is either due to our naive defensive attitude or, more alarming, we don't have a clue. Bayern won last season with defensive attitude, they attack and defend together, so was Barca under Pep, and also Dortmund, these teams are more likely to get a win in any ground because they religiously have a offensive and defensive mindset.

Injury is also our biggest handicap I cannot figure out why every season we lose key players and hence costing us in big games. I know we will score, but....will we concede? That is something we need to put all our efforts, we need balance, Carzola and Özil and Ramsey with Arteta and Flamini looks stable, but add Wilshere and we look very shaky, so Flamini is a must if we want all three points if he isn't available, we are in for a long few weeks, this is where Alex Song comes handy, he ain't top class, but he is effective like Mikel is for Chelsea, but we sold him I don't understand why, is it the money? Frimpong also is powerful but very inexperienced and not Wenger's cup of tea.
